Yes,it's Micky.All the drums on the entire Headquarters album are played by him.

And Micky is the composer as well! His first writing credit on a Monkees record.

@@harrygore If I recall rightly the woodblocks were annoying him so much that he brought the tympani into the session as a means of releasing his stress. The tympani then of course became the hallmark of the song!

Now THAT’S a Chip Douglas bass line. Very melodic and in some parts carrying the riff.

@@cedarwaxwing3509 Disappointed that Peter's piano gets buried in the mix once Mike's guitar comes in. I think the piano is a lot of the charm in this song.
