It's nice to finally hear the guitar track isolated. Sounds like Nez was playing his 12-string again - the sound/rhythm almost makes it a bookend for "Salesman" at the top of the album. Fun synergy. In the high background vocal section, I'm fairly certain I hear Coco Dolenz distinct from Micky. The Eddie Hoh track is insane - like a well-tuned engine just chugging along.
The final three minutes of isolated Micky freeform vocalizing is world class freaking out. I hope if/when there’s a Super Deluxe PACJ, there are some iso tracks or remixes that shine a light on this.
Been waiting for this one! Great job! I bet separating all those Moog tracks just about drove you crazy. Thank you again for these wonderful deconstructions.
Wow, this is great. Your hard work is recognized and truly appreciated. It's nice that we all get to experience the truly progressive arrangements that the Monkees (together with their producer, Chip Douglas and selected musicians) created for what I believe is their best album! How can we get these guys into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!!!
The vocal track is a real eye opener. Another 7A!!! I did not realize he supplements “bye-bye”with “up high” (and possibly a few “pot pie”?) Nice work! Thank you
I've just discovered your brilliant reconstructions and I'm enjoying them immensely. Please deconstruct songs from "Head", especially the sublime "As We Go Along".
Superb job Septyl, there’s so much going on in this track having it finally broken apart like this is truly eye opening. I’m not very tech or software savvy but it would be great if you shared with us what your approach and process is to tearing all of these gems apart as it seems quite involved to say the least.
@@painter8237 The quality of my deconstructions all depend on how the song is mixed. Drums, bass, and vocals are generally easy to deconstruct using AI, but the other instruments is where it gets complicated. If it is a guitar panned left and piano panned right, I can isolate them. I can also do this with an instrument panned in the center, though the quality will not be as good.
That’s very interesting. When I first came across your stuff I thought “how do they have access to the masters?” because the sound quality in the breakdown has such clarity. The technology to do this stuff these days is amazing. I’m assuming you’re working from the original stereo mixes, though sometimes I thought it was from some of the remixes such as those on the Listen To The Band box set and a few of the early Arista releases, specifically Headquarters and Pisces, which had slightly better sonics in certain instances simply due to the fact that they were more cleaned up at the time, though not necessarily superior to the original mix depending on the tune.
