DM2 starts the feeding until Mom comes back and takes over. The triplets line up in a feeding row awaiting those yummy bites of fish - how cool is that to see? D36 is at the back of the line & manages to give a little bonk to D34 lol Mom D makes sure all three eaglets get fed with D36 getting a couple of bites at the end of the feeding! ♥ Thank you for watching!

One of the best Eagle Moms on the planet. Raised 3 babies on her own when Dad disappeared in a snow storm a couple seasons ago. 🦅❤🦅

It is hilarious how the baby in back keeps pecking at the sibling in frustration to try for tidbits. Of course it loses as sibling retaliates. However it does not stop that eaglet from trying, again and again. Spunky!! At the end, it is resigned to wait its turn. Thank you Lady Hawk, this is a terrific video!

I loved watching these three. They gave us some funny moments, like the time a parent brought in a frog and the eaglets all said "we're not eating that"! Hilarious 😆

Decorah mom is so good, it’s so nice seeing all the eaglets lined up like this, I really hope they all remain healthy and can grow and fledge- I’m pretty saddened by dn11 (as well as dn12 because now he will be without siblings) and so it’s nice to see all the eaglets here doing well but it also makes me worry. I really really hope they’ll all live full lives healthily and happily. It’s my second year watching eagles and last year there were so many problems with the falling out of the nests and the gnats, dn10 etc and this year dn11 😔, it makes me worry for the safety of every nests chicks, but I suppose it’s just nature and it’s out of my hands so I shouldn’t stress and just try to enjoy the streams

Very sad news about DN11 😢 Hope all three E's make it to a successful fledge!! Like all the other comments listed think we're all 😟 worried about E36 not getting enough to eat..s/he is very feisty for being the littlest one though. Ty Lady Hawk for covering our much loved Decorah nest & please be safe !! 🐥🐥🐥🦅♥️♥️♥️🦅

Lady Hawk very concerned e36 not being fed..??
@shnucky3896
@shnucky3896 4 года назад
@@bettechic5052 E36 has to wait its turn. It is last in the pecking order so it gets fed last. The oldest has priority and so on down the line. That is Nature ensuring that the biggest will survive if there is a food shortage. These eaglets are all well fed. They have little ping pong ball sized crops under their big. That can feed them for 2 days.

I have faith in Mom Decorah, she knows how to feed her babies!❤️ She raised 3 eaglets to fledge by herself one year. Food at this nest is plentiful so if they stay healthy no worries. PS this morning lil bit was in the middle of the food line😍

I hope D36 got enough food. I thought for a moment that the middle eagles hurt D36. Luckily he/she got some food albeit not as much as the other two. Be strong E36! 🦅👍

It may be the camera angle. The weight of eagles is very consistent. The only difference is between females and males, females are about 25% larger than males.

Hello, M’lady! When I saw the photo of these three I had to stop and watch. I don’t know who’s who, That’s a little one on the right sure didn’t get much to eat. It was interesting to see how it shifted position though to be able to get some bites. I look at their crops and it saddens me, because they’re not bulging with food the way E 15 and E 16’s are, or even Jules and Romy’s were when they were this small... Reading the descriptions also overly saddens me. Hearing about eagles falling out of the nest, and I guess dying because of gnats? I need to toughen my heart! This is all troubling to me... They are sooo cute! I love it when they look right into the camera!

@@carolv8450 it is a matter of dominance, the pecking order so to speak. Oldest to youngest - in time of famine, as we saw last year at glacier gardens, it ensures one of them survives. The younger one has to wait its turn, but it gets plenty to eat to also fill its crop. Nature can seem cruel. Eagles live in the moment, there is no empathy or neglect, there just is.

Momma Decorah needs to do a better job of distributing the food. Tiny D36 got very little.

As humans we watch these vids and feel sympathy for the tiniest, but birds do not think that way. The biggest and strongest take priority, as they'd rather have one or two successful fledges than zero.
