I admit I LOVED the Victorian house and your decorating style there. That is what drew me to your channel. All your subscribers were so happy for your new move and we could tell it took a while for you(and some of us, tbh) to fully warm up to the new house but now, it is looking stunning and your and your husband's true vision for your home is coming through.
Have you ever thought of putting a slightly raised bed of dirt in the chicken coop for your ladies to have their dirt bath? You could throw the veggie scraps in there as well.
If you don’t particularly like the dirt baths in the garden beds you can get an old small tire and put dirt and diatomaceous earth, just only get the food grade. It’s a great mite and other pests control. It’s safe for dogs cats and other wildlife. It does have to be kept dry. This is what we do on our farm. The hens love their dust baths inside the tires. Helps keep hen happy healthy. 🦋☘️🌵🩵
The book shelf is beautiful and its perfect for that wall. You and your husband have beautiful artwork, books and decor. How wonderful that now you can enjoy again. Your home is lovely. It takes time to get things the way you want. I love to bake as well as cook. I started baking before I learned to cook. Baking you have to stick to the recipe exactly as written however cooking you can add or take away and it usually comes out great.
Didn't think they were gonna be so big, but must say Lauren the shelving looks good, especially with all your bits on. The room looked nice tidied with all the blooms in there. And oh my goodness your doing so well for eggs of the chicken's, and their so friendly, and cute, and really do have personalitys. Fur babies are gorgeous. I love the shelves!!! It looks great!!! My Dad passed in 1996 unfortunately at the age of 69.😢 When I was a little girl, he built beautiful book shelves in our living room. I have always loved reading and my parents were very sweet to buy me books. Your house is beautiful!! I love the chickens and cats!! We did the same thing wth our mom. I live wth my sister and family in Florida. My dad is still wth us. Mom passed in 2013 and was cremated. She is resting in an alcove over the front door wth the morning sun shining through most of the day. We can still feel her looking and loving over us even after 11 yrs.
I must say these recent changes truly feel like you and your family. I love the bookcases and all the memories you’ve included. I think you guys are well on your way into turning this house into your home. Thank you for taking us on the journey.

One thought is, I just started the video and am a collector books. Myself is nameplates that you come by with subject matters as well for the shelving. Sort of like those brass plates really cool. I haven’t ordered any yet, but I’m considering because I like being able to look and find books subject matter quickly.

I have a decorated cookie business so when I got a Bosch mixer it changed the game with the mess making. Also you can throw a damp tea towel over the mixer as you mix to keep the dry ingredient explosion to a minimum

I just wanted to share with you a funny little story… My Husband and I were “fur baby sitting” for my Niece and her Boyfriend so that they could celebrate their 2 year anniversary in San Antonio! They have a Corgi named “Moose”! He is absolutely adorable! Anyhoooo…. I watch your videos (on RU-vid) so often that I find myself speaking to the birds and now Moose in the same high pitch loving voice as you do for your fur babies and feathered babies! I have recently started to re-read some of my favorite novels from 20-30 years ago. I do love to bake, but I don't do it often, because unlike you, I do have a sweet tooth, LOL!! 😊

The columns on the shelving really make it for me...otherwise it was too modern...they add needed character (the character I miss from the Victorian)...good placement!!!!

I think this is the best your living room has looked since you moved in here. I'm still hoping you will get much, much larger/taller artificial trees in place if those olive trees. They are just too small. You have huge Christmas trees, now these very tall bookcases, and you need taller trees. It would be much more to scale with everything else you have going on in the room. You did a great job on the bookcases. They look fabulous.
