When purchasing a sofa, it’s best to measure your space first, then measure the sofa in the store. Once home, Use painters tape to lay out the measurements of the sofa on the floor to get a visual before purchasing. Did you consider placing the sofa against the larger wall (where you have the tv) that way it faces out, and facing the kitchen and living area. Then place the tv and fireplace on the opposite wall.

I was so happy to see that you uploaded, suffering in this winter storm with no power for 2 days thus far, I needed something that felt normal.

I've done paint pourings on canvas for years. Very affordable way to have 'real art'. My suggestion----you need to have more contrast in your paint colors---for example at least one dark color and two light colors of paint. A chocolate brown would have been a great mix in the paint colors you chose or a deep blue since blue is the color of your headboard.

The ceilings in furniture stores are high, so it makes the furniture look smaller. Those delivery drivers didn’t want to take the sofa back out. I would have rejected as soon as I saw the scratch. I am glad you found another, but always measure.

When my husband and I bought our house, we made sure to measure the area and the sectionals to avoid that problem so I get it! You wouldn’t believe how many couches we saw, liked, and looked like it would fit at first glance, but measurements said something completely different lol. Can’t wait to see what your new pieces look like in there!

Smaller couch and one or two accent chairs with a small coffee table bcuz your area is not that big, it won't be comfortable...

The paintings are very nice. Before restarting, build a customized frame that matches the color of your headboard.

Yes I can see how the sectional would take up alot of space. Maybe you can get a chaise as well to go with the sofa you ordered. You can still bundle up and get comfortable. Yep, I saw all the scratches

April, I ordered a new sectional in late 2019 and walked in the showroom with a tape measure and notes. To get mine to fit, the salesman sold me 5 pieces of a 7 piece sectional. It fits perfectly in my home.

If you add some bold blue and deep greens in the painting it will flow well with the decor.

Try throwing some blue on the canvas to make it match a lil more

As someone who worked in a furniture store, i would print out full specs of the furniture a customer is interested in and then have them go home and measure. The tip is to use painters tape to measure out the items width, depth, and length. This way, they can have a better visual of how much space that item will be utilizing. And many of the clients I assisted were really appreciative of that simple tip. Because it’s extremely frustrating when you find something you like and go through with the order and it doesn’t fit. This just makes it incredibly inconvenient for the customer as they have to start from scratch and that’s time that they could’ve been enjoying their item..not to mention, but some retailers don’t even honor custom order exchanges.

We move th furniture around a bit and figure what other pieces I can swap out next to make it work. I 100% agree with you the way they style furniture in the stores makes it look smaller. And I lil trick I learned from a designer on RU-vid when you do custom furniture or any type of furniture get the measurements of the furniture piece and get you some blue painting tape and measure out the furniture on the floor to see how it would fit in the space before you purchase it to make sure it’s not to big or small for the space

I like the canvases. Instead of starting over, is it possible to add extra white layers to balance it out? Or maybe you can do an all white canvas and find some gold trim like you have on the bed.

I know I’m late to the game but, getting a sectional on a smaller scale with a chaise lounge would work better I believe. You just have to measure the room to determine what size best fits your space. Also, a damaged sofa is a deal breaker regardless. Glad you’re sending it back.
