I’ve kept straw bales in my cold cellar for YEARS!!! You can definitely keep them.

I've kept my hay bales and they lasted maybe 3 or 4 seasons. If we get rain I just make sure to let them completely air dry in the garage before rewrapping and storing for the year.

If they get wet they will mold but if you don’t wrap them and just put them where they can breath they store fine

Yes, those bales of hay are such a mess! As long as you store them dry in a plastic trash bag, mine lasted 8 years. After awhile the wire comes loose and then you have a pile of hay. Love your porch❤️🎃🕸🍁🦇

Yes u can keep them from year to year. I got mine from Michael’s 5 years ago and i still have them. I got 2 more this year and will also keep them for as long as they last lol. Just store each of them in an individual big garbage bag and they will keep just fine 😉😘

lmao the squirrel story was made funnier because my mum legit texted me the other day saying that the squirrels grabbed one of the corns off of her stalks she uses to decorate her home and left it half eaten on her driveway.

Omg I need that oogie boogie!!! I’ve heard that wiping down your pumpkins and corn with white vinegar keeps the squirrels away but it’s obviously non toxic so it won’t hurt them!

Angie: Per my son, who lives out in the country and deals with Hay/straw quit a bit. He said you need to make sure it is strong and not hey they are two completely different things. Straw is a byproduct of hay if you’re keeping it outside it’s best to get rid of it after the season because it will start disintegrating and it will attract bugs. However, he said if you are using it indoors it’s OK to keep it inside for a year or two but it must be sealed properly otherwise you’re gonna have an infestation of bugs. I hope this helps. By the way your decorations are fabulous once again.

We keep our bales of hay year after year in our garage. Just make sure it is a dry place. Your porch looks adorable and so festive!

One Easter one of my daughter's plastic eggs was missing during the Easter egg hunt. We couldn't find it anywhere. My mom found it a couple days later chewed open by a squirrel so it could get to the M&Ms. It couldn't have been more than 10 minutes between setting out the eggs and hunting them. He was quick!

I live near Toronto and I had a hay bail for 3 years we would have had four this year but we forgot to bring it in before snow. Every year we just brought it into our garage and it dried out since no water got to it. Also you can put them into a garbage bag in the garage. Hope this helps

Going off of horse experience, hay bales will mold especially if they get wet. Now with that said as someone else may have mentioned if you keep them in good shape you might be able to keep them for a couple seasons. Obviously I wouldn't but again I'm pulling from horse experience not decorative haha! I think as long as you keep them dry and such you should be ok.
