I love this cake, so elegant and classy! Have you ever tried using a (new, clean) toothbrush for splattering food colour? You flick it off the brush part with your finger or thumb. It gives another style of splatter, more diffuse spots/dots and not so much in a straight line. Just another option!

Our family liked vanilla cake with buttercream frosting in violet/lavender and with orange trim and flowers. The store bakery always knew in was our family due to our unique color combos.
