I’ve also been surprised by the lack of dark academia Christmas decorating videos, so I was so excited to see this pop up. I’m going for this vibe in my library/office. I hope you have more DA Christmas ideas to share. 😊
I showed this to a friend of mine She said (paraphrasing) "she's just pretending, she's doing that play acting for a certain child fantasy. It's like she's trying to live a book or movie of fiction" To which I said- "OK. So what? I'm not sure IF she is doing that, but I love fictionalizing MY life as well" Lesson? It might be a "real" thing to you, or it might be playing "pretend" as an adult. LIVE your life in the most beautiful way you know how. I'm a 52 year old guy with long blue hair and I endorse EVERY thing you're doing just lanch. ETA- that little happy dance at the end of your vid? Well both my friend and I agree that it was cute as heck. We both do silly happy dances almost every day :)
Oh yes she is spot on. I love living out my life as if I am a character from a movie or book. The name for it is “romanticizing your life” and it definitely makes me appreciate the little things and makes life more fun. I’m so happy to hear you’re on board and are undeniably you, it’s so inspirational.
Well, I guess I've been decorating Dark Acidamian most of my life (71) years. I just didn't know it had a name until now. I have received many compliments over the years, and I just always say I surround myself with the things I love. I'm so glad you did this video, even though it's February I will definately try to copy as much as possible this tree for next year I was excited to see books under the tree ( never have enough places to put my books! ) I love the book pages and candle sticks as well. I already have a plether of champagne, gold, and silver ornaments . I will place these decorations in my Office/ Library. You are extremely creative using newspapers for wrapping paper and bows, showing how budget friendly your ideas are. I hope to see you make more videos for other holidays throughout the year . My humble home is my favorite place to be its where I escape to to enjoy life's beautiful simple pleasures. I subscribed and will be waiting to see more of these videos. May your year be blessed and filled with peace.
Right! It seems a lot of us including myself are in the same boat. I just always said it was inspired by Harry Potter but have a set name now makes it even cooler. So glad this video gave you some ideas. It was super nice to mix it my Christmas decor and make it academic and it felt so fancy too. Excited what the holidays will bring this year!! Thanks for being here and checking out my work 🥰🥰 so excited to have another DA friend 🕰️📚🕯️
Honestly, if you can't be a character in your own DA book, when can you be? I love that your flexible enough to allow your imagination to guide your esthetics while not allowing yourself to deviate from your true vision. I love how the tree turned out! Very cool... I'd like to point out that bringing in a bit of snow like elements into your DA decor would also work as snow does play a big part in the Harry Potter films for scenes with the characters as well as around Hogwarts.
At the end it looked like a Christmas scene from a fantasy movie and it's truly amazing and it really gave me the Christmas feeling that I want to have. Thank you 🎄😁
And let me tell you, I have looked and looked and looked for more Christmas DA videos, nothin comes up except this. Also, I just want to say that DA stand for dark academia, and Dumbledores Army from Harry Potter. Cuz they call it the DA!!!!!!!! Isn't it so cool?
There are plenty of videos about similar decorating palettes. They just don’t call it dark academia. It’s called “a neutral color palette” and it is literally everywhere. Brown ribbon, neutral decorations, pine ones, dark berries, distressed paper ornaments… just look at Fia Garcia’s diy page.
