Nice video. Last time I ran Steel Pass we went into Saline Valley rather than out, and it was pretty easy with an 80 series on 35s and a 4" lift to climb up the steps. I drive a GX460 with 35s on a 3" lift now and I tow a Boreas XT trailer with 35s. I wonder how bad it would be towing the trailer through it.
@@chowcares Amazon themselves sell Denso coils for $48. It's Amazon that sells the coil, not a third party, but still I don't know if they are authentic. I just got one and will keep it in my spares box because these thing so without warning at any time. Fortunately I was near an Autozone and had an OBDII scan tool to identify the problem. Love your videos. As I always say, you're a natural.
Should have watched this before I ran Dedeckera Canyon south to north 6/17/23 solo in my stock double cab 1st gen Tundra with 31" tires. Made it home but my running boards suffered and won't let me open passenger doors. Washboards and new washouts in Eureka Valley were pretty bad.
Just did it solo in my completely stock ‘89 Silverado and felt the same way. Luckily I came down those steps and didn’t have to go up, but damn it beat the hell out of my truck. And those washboard roads were the worst I’ve ever been on hands down!!
Drove paved roads in Death Valley around 2/21/24 and met some people who had been to the Eureka Dunes. They said the washboards were not so bad and there weren't washouts so probably the road has been graded. Wish I knew how to get official info. I finally found out there was a loose bolt on my front skid plate when I ran the canyon. It was making me think something was severely wrong from before the canyon and throughout Eureka Valley. @@Ethan-yo2vc
I also have LC100. I don't air down my tires anymore on a trail like this. I'd rather have the maximum ground clearance. I think there are plenty of traction from inflated tires on a trail like this. What do you think?
When were you guys there? Our group did this same pass on like 10/1. We were in the same Northern part 9/29-10/4. I think we saw you guys at the trail head on like Saturday. We had the 7-rig group.
