KZ is one of the most talented, versatile, and creative artists from the Philippines. She orchestrated this iconic song into her own signature piece. As a result, she gave us an amazing and unforgettable performance. The autotune was intentional. From what I read, she used it to attract the audience....kinda catch them off guard because autotune is not usually used in a singing competition. The autotune is only in the intro but the rest is her pure and raw vocal. Anyway, it definitely caught my attention and it feels like watching a concert instead of a singing competition. She is an amazing rapper, as you have noticed. Please continue to check out her other songs/performances. One of my favs is "Imposible". She sang it with another Filipino rapper (Shanti Dope). Ah KZ , I remember the first time I heard her ---I was astounded. I can say the same about 4 sisters from The Philippines called 4th Impact.These amazing sisters have amazing harmonies. They auditioned for X Factor UK 2015 and that audition video has more than 183 MILLION views and still growing. Search you tube for them , then just take your pick of a song that you like.....most are as good as if not better than the original ( a big call I know - but I stand by it ).
You'll always have so much fun with KZ. She is a complete artist, not just a singer. She re-imagines every song and doesn't even look like the same person from one performance to another. She's only about 4'9" tall but a real powerhouse in every way. Multi-talented, original, artistic, dynamic and, a real sweetheart too. There are a lot of performances out there to illustrate all this. I realize that the vocal modification at the start was an artistic choice, but it's not my favorite either. But the rest of the performance is brilliant from start to finish.
Hey, great reaction. However I'd like to get over this autotune stigma of it cheating.. singing live with autotune is not cheating its actually harder then people think to sing in the right key and perfect pitch well autotuned it sounds terrible if your not. Especially live. That my 2 cents.
