Also Gabbi you should watch mainly Car Craft Auto Detailing and Ammo NYC on videos about polishing. They have the most in-depth and all inclusive content on polishing cars correctly that explains why and how. For me, if they have that much experience and are allowed to work on some very rare and expensive cars, I'm gonna listen to what they have to say because they have in-depth experience and knowledge into safely doing it. Doesn't mean they are the only ones of course but they seem to have the most in-depth videos about it for me

ok, to answer your questions. firstly, before you clay bar , if you're not going to apply an iron remover fall out to the paint, I would do the bag test. Put a plastic Ziploc sandwich bag over your hand and glide it over the paint. if you hear a rough sound then yes clay it. I always do a section, say half the hood, then check your clay. If it is heavily contaminated, kneed it into a clean bar then continue. Do a panel, say a door at a time, then check again. Kneed if required. Remember when using a traditional clay medium, if you ever drop it on the ground, throw it out. The clay is so sticky so it will pick up a lot of debris from the ground and you don't wanna risk it damaging the paint. Second, in terms of how much wax to put on your pad.. You should always prime the pad first. 2 ways you can do that. One is to purchase Chemical Guys ( pretty sure other manufacturers make it) pad primer.. Few sprays on the pad, apply wax then go. Or just add a couple lines of wax on the pad, spread it around with your fingers/hand to work it into the pad , then add a few pea sized drops on your pad than go. You prime your pad because , even on a low speed setting, your machine and pad will create heat. An unprimed pad will burn off that wax quickly and you can damage the paint. Re apply 2-3 pea sized drops per panel and work into the paint. You only want a thin layer so that should be more then enough. One thing I did notice on your video that I have a hard time understanding. Why did you put your tire dressing on before finishing the wash ? Strongly suggest to not do that. Always save your dressings until you are completely done. Dressings require a fully dry surface and need , generally, 10-20 minutes to cure or self level.

Nice video! Regarding claybars, cut it up in pieces as its easy to drop it on the ground and then you have to throw it away. When you see that it has picked up a fair bit of contaminates just fold it and start fresh. When you see the contaminates showing thru after you folded it several times its time for a new piece or if the claybar gets really dry like, its going to mare the paint. Beware that you have different grades of claybars for the degree of contaminates on the car and a soft one will do less to none maring on the paint but if you do a medium or regular the always follow up with a polish. When polishing I’m sure you get more info from your dad but always have the cord running behind your back so you don’t scratch the paint and avoid the sun if you can. You should use a thin layer of wax as its only a thin layer bonding with the paint and if you have problems removing the haze after applying then you have used too much. Avoid getting Wax on plastic details as its a hassle to remove and shows as wite spots. use masking tape or apply it by hand near those areas. To make sure the wax, sealant or ceramic coating can bond properly with the paint always use a IPA or similar product as a wipe down before applying as fingerprints and oily residue prevent the wax from bonding.

Great video as always! That car is SHINING! 👏🏻👏🏻 Claybaring- When you'll know is when you fold to a new side and see contamination coming through your clean side. Since you and I are both claying with Meguiars, watch the color of every new side you fold. I USUALLY throw mine away after i use it on the whole car. (Oh if you need stronger claybars in the future, go with the Chemical Guys grey or black claybars!) Wax application - I do about 4 to 6 quarter-sized dots on the whole pad. And I can usually get the whole panel with that amount. If its a bigger car break down the panel into 2 sections. Hope this made sense!

Id recommend buying a dual action polisher, you can buy a cheap one at harbour freight for like $80 and the pads are pretty cheap for it too, like $10 a peice. I used the one youre using in this video for awhile and the dual action one is way better in my opinion.

Just a note, when you spray your wheel and tire cleaner on and scrub the tire. If the tire cleaner turns brown like in your video reapply the tire cleaner and do it until the foam stays white.

Hi Gabbi and once again you are progressing a lot and you have given a new twist for your video with mostly music. I don't know if anyone told you but let me be the first to let you know that you have a beautiful tone and voice which is very clear and with a nice speed. I would highly recommend you watch Apex(Brian), Miranda(Phil), Wilson Auto Detailing(Luke), Forensic Detailing(Jon), Ammo NYC(Larry), Pan The Organizer, Jimbo, FAB(Brian), etc. because you will not only see how they detail but also the correct use of clay bars, when to dispose of them, how to save them, how to fold them, how much to use all in your native language. You don't always have to clay bar your vehicle but also they show you when to do it, proper techniques, everything. Besides having all their expertise and experiences better than I can translate my view from Spanish to English. Hope you are doing your checklist with also the do's and don'ts. Remember my suggestion several videos ago? This is what has made me a better detailer as this is my side job for 6 years and getting better by watching everything and everyone like you. I have made some of your mistakes and I have made mine. What makes us better is understanding how or what everyone is doing and why they do it since no one has all the full knowledge. The best part is this, all are eager to share what has been working for them and sharing proper techniques and what products they apply and new or old products in the business. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 😘🤙👍🇵🇷

I cut my clay into smaller peices, maybe about as big as a quarter maybe a little bigger and that'll last one car typically, if you cut them small like that you'll save more in the long run rather then using up whole globs all at once

Great job keep up the hard work! One tool that I think would work wonders for you is a metrovac sidekick blaster, it’s an air blower you can use to blow out the interior any cracks not reachable and you can air dry a car as well very low price will blow out any clay wash stuck in cracks as well for exterior www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=28823 And for waxing the amount needed on your pad start by spreading a bunch on pad to cover/prime it all and move it all around to cover every inch of pad with your fingers then I blotch it out and do a panel or two at a time so it isn’t too thick or too thin in an area and yes you are right keep adding a little bit of wax to the pad each panel or two. To tell when the wax is dried and ready to be removed I do the swipe test run your finger in a very small area if it Is still streaky the wax isn’t dry and if your finger print went right down to the paint clear the wax is dried and ready to be removed. Sealant is a stronger form of protection to apply very similar to wax lots of information haha take care, subscribed!

With claybars, you don't need to throw them away only after one vehicle. Gets pretty expensive to do that. Typically when you fold the claybar over and can't find a clean side, that's when you'll know it's dirty and unusable anymore. Save money, clay more. Walmart.

So i think it took me around 10-12 hours to do the inside and out, i had to leave a couple times that first day and i don't remember how much time that wasted but when i started out i was charging $150 for an entire detail but i just bumped up to $200 because its a crap load of work and my list of cars to detail is getting kind of long lol

By the way, I didn't see what decontamination performed or use of tar removal. These are performed prior decision to the use of clay bar. Sometimes, you don't need to use clay bar because it may have been solved by decontamination and/or tar removal. Wax must be done after use of clay bar because it will marine the clear coating of any vehicle. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 😘🤙👍🇵🇷
