Oh my gosh, couldn’t have said it better myself!! My husband and I just picked up a car from Carvana this afternoon. They stated they were busy “detailing” it for us during the day. I was so disappointed and confronted them, telling them there is NO way the car had been detailed. It wasn’t filthy but just like....dirty, dusty and there were stains in the carpet that hadn’t even been touched!! Detailed? Hmmmm. My husband said because I’ve been watching the “detail guy” videos, I was comparing excellent standards to subpar standards!! LOL He’s got that right!

I bought it because I was getting tired of having the doors cracked so my Honda could exhaust...especially on the SUPER cold days 😄 plus it barely makes any noise so I can actually hear my music when I’m pressure washing now! If anyone is curious as to why I didn't go with a 220V one, it would be a massive pain and expense to run 220V power out to my garage...my electrical panel is full already so it just wasn't an expense I was willing to make. I'm very happy with the one I got so far and will likely just use it in the winter and switch back over to the Honda when I can move outside again!

If you clean your car every week or two....wash,vacuum,cleaning windows,wiping down the interior it’s pretty simple and not that much work. Most these people probably go months and month without doing any of that

Hey DG, I’ve been using your videos as a learning tool to clean cars better than just a wash/dry thing, and have been detailing my bosses cars once a week (not to the same level as you do in these vids because it’s just weekly upkeep lol). The entirety of europe uses em, they are mostly used for the winter when the salt terrorizes the streets, some budget cars with riggety ass hubcaps use steelies, some modified oldtimers use modified steelies with a deeper dish. They're legit everywhere.

Here's a quick tip! I found that while detailing a car, that if you take some basic rubbing compound on a towel or microfiber rag and rub it into seriously faded headlights, it'll clean them up! It's been about a year and it still looks great! I know there are professional ways with sanding or buffing, but this is a quick one just to get them looking way better!

I cleaned my car interior the other day. All I did was vacuum the seats and carpets, but I made sure to get in the seams with the vacuum. I also used a soft brush I had lying around to scrub the rubber floor mats after spraying APC on them and I was amazed and what a difference just taking that little bit of extra time made. Eventually I want to get some detail brushes so I can brush the nooks and crannies of my car while using the vacuum. I don't have the time or motivation to clean the entire car all at once but I think I could definitely make a part-time hobby out of detailing my own car.

Here in Finland we have this thing called banded steelies, usually seen on older Benz, BMW's or VW's. They take like 16" steel rims and cut the "lip" from them, add a band of steel like 2 - 5" wide and weld them together making a 16x7" steelie to like 16x10". Then strecth a winter tire on it.

I live in Michigan and I had winter tires for my grand prix. Same wheels and a snow weather tire, not all season. Never got stuck in it!

As a Canadian in Canada, having winter/Snow tires are safer for winter conditions. It's even mandatory by law in some provinces to have them. :p
