A deep clean and disassembly of a vintage 1956 Smith Corona Silent-Super typewriter. This machine was covered in grease, rust, and grime, causing the type bars to get stuck in the segment. With a lot of time and elbow grease, it is now working like new again.

Imagine the amount of engineering that went into to each and every piece of this machine. How we took it for granted. Great job refurbishing it.

Amazing work, looks like twenty or thirty hours, not including the time it took recording and editing. I like the decision to leave the original paint. Also, polishing the ribbon cups, nice touch!

I kinda like the yellowed keycaps. They give the typewriter a vintage / analog vibe.

Nice video! I've had some parts off several series 5 Smith Coronas and one draw band, but you've done the deepest dive I've seen to date. You truly did a "full service".

Amazing work! I like to use isopropyl alcohol in the ultrasonic to get rid of rust on screws and other small metal parts. I'd love to see a repair/restoration of some ultra portable machine, they look super complicated to me
