Deep Determinants of Economic Growth: Luck 

This is the fourth and last chapter on the deep determinants of economic growth. It deals with luck and decisions made in economic history that did not depend on economic aspects. I argue that luck may be underrated as a deep determinant and discuss some very consequential events in history that could easily have played out very differently (even to the extent of human extinction).
