She did do any research.. she was just ranting emotionally. She should have researched Ruto's economic model and poke questions to see if it's credible.
Whooa, Esther has to be the best interviewer i have come across, she`s done her research well and asks the questions that our local hosts are afraid to ask. Bravo
Thank you so much ESTHER for those powerful questions that you are pausing to our DEUPUTY president, the fact is our leaders are hungry of positions and money, so many people cant afford a meal a day, the price of food has gone too high, making the cost of living expensive, corruption in the offices, we cant get jobs because of corruption, who will save this Nation Kenya? Who will help us get good education? Who will rejuvenate our economy Kenya? we real don't know whom we can trust withy our lives.
corruption is not only stealing , corruption is also violating the constitution ,how on earth can the opposition become part of the executive ,in a sense Kenya has two governments at the same time ,and all this, is shouldered by the mwananchi
I agree with you indeed no one we can trust anymore,,but I know there is one supernatural being somewhere watching all this (God) and He will rescue us from all this.
@@mmwaapamghambonyi7836 You are wrong at two levels. Firstly, under the 2010 constitution, the opposition is neither defined, nor created, nor facilitated. You can not invoke a term that does not exist in the Constitution, then purport to declare circumstances under which it would be unconstitutional to apply. The Constitution does not operate on whims of individuals. Secondly there is no opposition and there isn't supposed to be any and most importantly there is no opposition serving in the Executive. Stop using terms whose application you know nothing about.
I would excuse her for emotions on subjects like hunger in Kenya, but not for dismissively cutting off and interrupting an interviewee, especially not the DP/ VP of any country - it is disrespectful, unprofessional, and plain juvenile.
Reason why fallout,? Things changed and programs changed to look like, the family in leadership had failed to the interest of one party which didn't care cause their term we're over. On the other side ruto thought to leave things fail in his hands citizenry would be angry , thus never let him raise to office His fear proved right now had he never smelled a rat .

@@henryachila5448 Indeed..that got me too..For instance the FBI is funded by congress it doesn't stop them from executing their mandate even if it's against a congressman, so where the money comes from in Kenya's case who funds the DCI is immaterial. Second the judiciary can only here cases brought before them, it's up to the investigative agencies to make their case, so i hardly see how more funding will help curb corruption, perhaps experdite the cases, but still not a magic bullet to deal with the scurge. All i hear is someone who wants to maintain the status quo as long as it will be him in power, but not for anyone else...and his call for single party rule makes him the biggest threat to any democracy not just Kenya's. But the real kicker for me is what he says and what his body language says are completely different which for me means he can't be trusted.

Ruto is still in government and therefore responsible for the plight of the Kenyan people. He knows how to avoid answering pertinent questions. He’s talking about the future. Esther is talking about the current situation in Kenya. DP gets so humble and softens when cornered.
Esther needs to realize that corruption is the disease 75 % of Kenyans are suffering from and unless we change our intentions to be corrupt and be morally upright as individual Kenyans then expect to see corruption in all professions. Incest has nothing to do with corruption but moral decadent. Suicides, murders have been in our society ever since and we need to separate and address the same in a sober way.let us not mix issues. Am a Ruto supporter but this Interview has made me see, these greedy politicians are all the same. I have come to realize he is never comfortable talking about fightingcorruption.
Perfectly correct. But people are forgetting a statement that his economic advisor, David Ndii made recently. Ndii said that UDA will NOT fight corruption because it is too deeply embedded in the society. He said that they would leave it to the institutions in place to fight corruption. Ruto has no intention of fighting corruption if he gets to power.

@@tukutanechuom3366 It was not only tough for him but it stressed him to the point he even forgot the constitutional framework in operation. When a whole DP asserts that "the Opposition" is responsible for keeping the Executive in check, then you know there is a problem. That role was constitutionally bestowed on Parliament under the 2010 constitution. A decade into the new Constitution, yet under intense probing, Ruto completely lost his bearing and demonstrated that he could be still mentally stuck in the old constitution. Intense probing creates tension and exposes many hidden things.
When the government lost direction in its 2nd term with DP as its no.2 why does he not just quit as he no longer believes in it and oppose it from without?
I feel sorry for Ruto he's not used to being interviewed in this manner. He is more comfortable talking BS to the poor and needy coz they are gullible and just cheer to all the lies he tells them.
Leaders should be answerable to us as their employers, but sycophancy in some Kenyans cannot allow them to question their leaders. If the handshake actually stopped the big 4 agenda is Ruto supposed to abandon his work and start opposing his own government or as a leader he should have swallowed his pride and called for dialogue with his boss and the opposition to discuss how best they will run the country?
Ruto is part of bad leadership that Kenya has endured throughout the years. He should tell us what he has done in the last 9 years. Again if he lack confidnce in the government that he helped to form, why shouldn't he resign.
He never pretended it was an innovation, in this interview if you were paying attention and if you use your brain, you could hear him saying the bottom up model is also Biden’ s approach to economy. But you like the confused old Odinga that you are unable to hear what Dr. Ruto says.
It saddens me to hear that the DP of Kenya doesn't know there is nothing like opposition in our current constitution. There is minority and majority in the house of parliament and parliament as a whole should oversite the executive. How can you pretend to defend a document whose content you seemingly do not understand?
Odep complaining again. You have to drag politics in a discussion about the welfare of all Kenyans including you. All leaders should come together to sort out our issues. Stop hating on one leader just because of politics. By the way there isn't oversight in Kenyan government anymore. All leaders went to bed.

That can be reasonable, but you can't say opposition with the government yet opposition it is not recognised in our current system of governance. The DP ought to know that, he has occupied the office for 10 years now. Just to be clear no one is perfect but if your intentions are not good to begin with then you should be shunned.

@@waibikos6055 @JOHN ODEP is right. Both Ruto and you are wrong! The Cabinet is formed from outside the Legislature under the 2010 constitution. The President is barred from appointing any member of the Legislature to the Cabinet. Hata hiyo hujui and you are yapping here! Secondly, the oversight role of the Opposition was abolished in the 2010 constitution. It is neither defined, nor created, nor facilitated under the Constitution. The role of oversight on the Executive was fully transferred to Parliament, both Minority and Majority, to collectively keep the Executive in check. So both Ruto and you are wrong. Keeping the Executive in check is not a role for some undefined "Opposition". The constitution does not confer upon an undefined body, a responsibility for which it neither defines nor facilitates. There is no opposition and there isn't supposed to be any under the 2010 constitution. If you are unaware, elections give an opportunity to the electorate to choose their leaders to ELECTIVE positions as defined in the Constitution. Of the three arms of the Govt, it is the only the LEGISLATURE where almost all key positions are ELECTIVE. The Executive arm only sees the election of the President and his Deputy, in addition to Governor's and their Deputies. No elections are conducted to fill positions in the Judiciary. Now you know, if you didn't know. It amazes me how most Kenyans, including Ruto are still stuck in the Lancaster house constitutional construct, yet the new Constitution has been in operation for a decade! How can a DP be so ignorant about the constitutional framework in operation?????!!
