Excellent! Very easy to understand. Was able to try Board View and test Keyboard suggestions as I watched. Nice Job

It's a nice video and really appreciate the covered topics, it would be great if you also talk about cascading values (depended values from the previous selection).

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Cascading values are limit out-of-the-box but using Power Apps is much more approachable. I'll keep this in mind for a future session.

Very helpful and informative video. I've built two Lists and am happy for the most part. I found that @mentioned worked mostly as expected for the List in my OneDrive. I didn't expect a user to be able to navigate beyond the List item in which I granted access thru the @mention functionality. I was disappointed to find the List I built in a site collection denied users access to the list item, even though I clicked thru the "grant access" to List item dialog box when I @mentioned the user. I don't want to grant access to the site. I don't want to have to keep adding users that encountered the denied access message. Unless someone has different guidance, I guess I'll stick to Lists built only in my OneDrive. Would love to hear someone else's experience with Lists in a site collection that is not open to their all staff. thank you, Sue

I created a list for users to sign up for a virtual class. I have a column that is "choice" that allows them to pick one of the dates available for a class. Is there a way to limit each of those choices to only 30 people each. For example I have February 22-23 as one of the dates....Once that date has 30 people signed up for it, is there a way to not allow others to choose that date?

Unfortunately no, not easily. Depending on the attendees signing up for the training, creating a Power App might be your best bet in this scenario.

Thank you for this. I run Microsoft 365 on a MacbookPro M1, and some of the functionality you described is missing. e.g. "Automate" and "Integrate" are missing from the function bar. Also, column types such as RTE, Location and Thumbnail. "Gallery" is not available under the All Items drop list, but can be set up using "create a view" Does Microsoft "choke" Microsoft Lists on Microsoft 365? Thanks again. I watched your tutorial twice and will give it another run.

Do you know why when I organize list in board view I only have the option to update by 'status' when I have another choice column that I wanted to organize the board by?

can we "embed" RU-vid videos or Microsoft Stream videos, into Microsoft lists? per row item? if so, how?

You can create video playlists using Microsoft Lists. See this article for an overview of what’s supported. Let us know if you have additional questions. - support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/microsoft-stream-playlists-in-onedrive-and-sharepoint-d707715e-e176-4c2a-9351-3c2008bb8f49

@Andy Huneycutt: How can lists be updated partially, with some of the columns coming from one excel workbook and the other columns coming from another excel workbook?
@AndyHuneycutt
@AndyHuneycutt Год назад
Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, you could use Power Automate to combine information from multiple Excel workbooks into a Microsoft list. Power Automate could query the data from Excel, and create a new list item (fairly easy), or update an existing list item (more complex).
