Still gives me chills after 11 years the gasps just intensified this performance and what made me go from an interested fan to a major Little Monster ❤️
They just removed the gasp from the now uploaded video 😂😂😂 All those artist in the audience that day were so shocked and it's so satisfying to watch even after so many years.
That VMA performance took me from being an interested fan to being a full blown LITTLE MONSTER. I was obsessed with everything she did thereafter. That single performance elevated so much for me.
This was the exact moment when Lady Gaga leaped Katy, Nicki and Taylor and landed right next to Beyonce, Britney and Madonna AT THE BEGINNING OF HER CAREER
@@idrk3707 well all of those made sense since Gaga, Katy, Nicki and Taylor are newbie into the mainstream unlike Bey, Brit & Madonna are the veteran ones
I'm guessing that Gaga predicted her life (as an artist) through paparazzi mv especially the headlines. On her ARTPOP era, she was betrayed that time and found out that most people in her team are just using her. People said she flopped and most of them assumed that her career was over and some fans turned agains her. Just like in the headline, Gaga hits rock bottom, lady gaga is over, and then when she collaborated with Tony Bennett for Cheek to Cheek, this is where the headline, "Lady no more Gaga". Then she got her reputation back by proving to the world that's she is not just a typical artist especially when she performed a tribute on Oscars and being involved in the film A Star Is Born, the people changed their views about her, and now she is claiming her throne again.
She promised the fame wouldn’t take her life, and after more than a DECADE she’s the living proof that she deserved the spot she is now, she had a vision and fought her ass off to make this wrecked world a little more bearable.
The VMAs performance is simply iconic. People actually thought that she was bleeding for real on stage. It also is a perfect segway to the dark themes explored in The Fame Monster. I’m so exited about your reaction to that era, since TFM was filled with BOPS. Thank you for sharing this experience with us
This video received a like because FINALLY a reactor reacts to the full uncensored version of the music video, which is not the version of the music video with the most views
This is it, this is where the videos become so intriguing and detailed! Paparazzi was the defining moment where I started my Gaga tradition. When this video came out I had a nice buzz going and I'd smoked some herb and I was over at a friend's house and he showed it to me and I was blown away. Since then, there has not been one Gaga video or album that's come out where I haven't kept the tradition going of having a drink and smoking a bowl before I watch or listen lol. You're in for a great time with Fame Monster!
Similar to Michael Jackson moon walking for the first time, this VMA performance was the cultural reset! She sky rocketed past Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Taylor with this Perfomance!
You understand Gaga better than anyone else I've ever seen react to her for the first time. Her artisty and what she's trying to say, the fact that she's theatrical and sings live. YOU GET IT.
The fact that Gaga had paparazzi photos of her looking sad in her Louis Vuitton wheel chair after she broke her hip during the BTW Ball, and then watching THIS EFFING MV!?!?! It will never NOT send me....
Those great dane's are Steven Klein's, you'll only see them in projects that he support's. Sorry Steven Klein if one of the biggest fashion photographer's in the world, he also directed Gaga's Alejandro video x
And the fact that she was a year and half into her career and delivered this performance! 🙌🙌 She was like “I’m here to stay” also the microphone drop right on beat just yes! NGL when I watched this live the night it premiered I was scared shitless it was that powerful of a performance
I love that comment you made when you said, "the strings add so much tension to the performance". I completely agree. It felt more and more urgent as the performance went on, until, the tragic end. ☠
I feel like the word 'iconic' gets thrown around a lot, but I can say without a care in the world that THIS performance truly defines it. Too bad the general public did this song so dirty.
I like that Gaga is still doing full choreography in her performances too. It's sort of embarrassing how many other artists are just doing the bare minimum by throwing in very simple moves for the chorus so they can hopefully become a tiktok dance.
Early in her career the Great Danes were in a lot of her music videos. They were also in Poker Face at the start (pool scene), they're in the Telephone music video (which is the 2nd part to this video and also directed by Akerlund) and I think they're in the Love Game video somewhere, too. PS you have the release date for the video wrong. It was released in early summer, not November (her next single, Bad Romance, had already come out by November 2009) and actually won those VMAs at the 2009 VMAs where she performed this performance, which were in late summer. After you do the eight tracks from The Fame Monster, definitely do her 2009 AMA performance of Bad Romance & Speechless.
I'm actually live for your journey to Gaga discography. This VMA'S performance is absolutely amazing, and has 11 years. Imagine how people react in 2009 before the biggest debut of Bad Romance. This girl just changed Pop culture.
Incredible reaction. you captured the right concept from the performance and when you deep dive to the fame monster era, pay attention to Telephone video, cause it is Paparazzi followup
I remember watching the VMA performance on TV and being so shocked. I haven't kept up with gaga beyond listening to the albums, but it was an extremely powerful performance.
I love that you do your research put this little fun facts about the videos & performances that I didn’t even know and I’ve been a fan since 2010. You got a new subscriber and a fan ( plus you’re really cute tho)
Thee . Most .Iconic.Live. Performance! this blew my 14 year old mind at the time and it still does now ! So ballsy and so honest ! She didn't t sugar coat anything , fame can kill !
I dunno if you’ll see this but I discovered your channel from your Electra heart reaction and then saw you reacting to Gaga, who I love sooo much. Yea it’s metropolis. It’s Gaga inserting references to art, she’s a whole ass pop artist😂. I interpreted the gold blood as the golden ichor that the Greek gods bled. That’s Gaga herself bled that too and how the media kills literal gods they built up for amusement. And yea those Great Danes were her pets that died before the Fame Monster😭
I knew you were gonna say "Iconic" That's the only word lol. Taylor I think you've grown to be a Gaga fan, such as, myself and many other of your subscribers. I'd love to have you mentor me from afar. Because I'm figuring out my debut. I have a channel, but nothing really set yet.
Finally! Because of quarantine, people are taking time to take a look at what we saw from Gaga since she started, live singing with collaboration with artists to bring message and art at the same time...
This how reactors should react! On point and he really understand and dissect every little detail of the video of Gaga. Keep reacting on her, she’s a pure artist of this generation.❤️❤️❤️
Her VMA performance was the reason I became a fan back in 2009 - love it and it was so daring and reminds me of my ultimate icon Madonna’s 1990 vogue performance 😍
I was a fan but my brother only knew her from radio or me playing her. He thought she was a gimmick pop type. We watched the VMAs together & BOOM. He became her number one fan.
I feel like people miss this part of the live at the beginning she says "i pray the fam won't take my life." Which just was a tell sign of her performance
In the intro, it shows a beautiful landscape. In the bed kissing scene, the couple went kissing while speaking French. After went outside, the girl sit down the balcony while that guy will kiss a girl. After that, he set this s--- out of it and don't love her back. After he set that, he decided to have a plot to kill this girl by push in her from balcony in the expensive mansion. In her fall, she pose like that in this spiral background for her to communicate. All the photographers saw her coming to land a ground as soon as that girl said she got herself a shot. Then, she died. Part 2 in tomorrow.
That performance... I was not a huge Gaga fan till I saw that on the VMAs. Gaga had 1 or 2 years of career And she was capable of serve such a perfect performance. That woman was born to be a performer, And the best part of it is that she knows it And she takes advantage of it. Thank y for reacting
You are the fucking King of Reactions! Glad you reacted to the live performance, Remember watch Telephone EXPLICIT Music video and for the Fame Monster I recommend the Grammys live performance with Elton John! It’s a Bomb too! It’s not blood this time but Fire 🔥🔥🔥
REACT TO BRITNEY SPEARS CAREER. She inspired all pop girls today. Also she was the most attacked celeb by paparazzis and I'm really sure Gaga was inspired by her for this video plot and I love it
The two different corsets during her fall, the sheet print on the wheelchair, the black outfit she wore on the sofa and the metallic outfit were all by Thierry Mugler, most of them vintage pieces.
Such a great reaction. This is my favourite Gaga song and video. You really speak with interest and understanding about every song, album, and video you watch and it makes you great to watch. I’m hoping you might react to Hozier after Lady Gaga. Love from Ireland ❤️
I have to admit before she performed paparazzi at the VMAs I did not pay too much attention to her thinking she had a couple of catchy songs but that’s it. After that performance I became a fan and have been one ever since.
I got chills watching this reaction. THIS IS WHY IM A GAGA FAN. Her artistry is amazing and seeing people witness it for the first time is soooo great. 👍👍👍
During the scene where she's falling off the balcony, the black and white background is her way of communicating a downward spiral. And like so many artists when they spiral, the paparazzi are there "yes right there gaga. Beautiful " and as soon as she lands they say "I got the shot" Makes me think of whitney Houston, amy Winehouse, and so many others. The media was more interested in its marketability than the wellbeing of the artist
