Regarding Ian's point at around 12:05: My favorite moment that just encapsulates perfectly the magnificence of the neutral site game is on Shipley's kickoff return in 2008. You can watch the replay and just see all of the Texas fans going berserk, then Shipley crosses the 50 and you see all of the Sooner fans just sitting on their hands, completely stunned. Watching that replay never gets old and gives me chills every time I see it.
I've always thought that play was the one where Shipley basically chased the ghosts out of the stadium. Before that it was, "omg, here we go again..." and then suddenly it was a four point game and there was blood flowing in Texas' veins.
The intricacies in this game, the shared history and influences from each program on the other and the uniqueness of it is why you will never convince me that this isn't the best rivalry in CFB!! The roots run deep between Oklahoma and Texas beyond sports and i love it Texas born proud of it,raised in Oklahoma since i was 10 and live here still to this day IM TEXAS MADE FOREVER but...BOOMER!!! (Die hard OU fan) Love the video by the way 🤙
