But I can understand why. It's not an ego thing (in most stories), it's not some exploitative thing. His parents were shot infront of him as a boy leading him to becoming an insane revenge hungry creature he trains these people in the ways he was trained from child assassins to orphans to kids off the street bringing them into this giant net of support and preparing them for a world of supervillains and aliens so that they no longer have to fear some random thug with a gun or let their anger rule their lives.

For a well written Batman, it's his tether to his humanity and justice, it's up to the Gotham court system to not be pieces of shit and execute joker cuz psychopathy does not fall under mental illness, the Joker is very aware, if Batman kills, he becomes just a man, who gave in to anger and rage and fear of what the joker can do, like all other men, no longer batman, powerless to do anything, Batman has done everything to help gotham even using his wealth but politics is a bloody sport

batman isn't the judge or executioner, he apprehends the criminal and then let the justice system do its thing. but the justice system in that universe is fucked and joker always get away with the insanity plea which is why he was always sent to arkham asylum instead of the death penalty.

@@h13n12 Batman acts as a vigilante by all means he is trying to be judge jury and executioner already on a legal stand point by enforcing his justice and attacking criminals, his existence undermines the justice system he believes in. Also it still doesn't make him smart he knows Gotham is corrupt so why do the same actions it's insanity the man can make failsafe a robot that can take on the justice league and rule the city in like one day just to kill himself essentially but can't make his own functional prison to place the rouges at the very least smh

He does not judge the criminal’s crime, he stops the crimes he can or are you saying you can’t know if it’s a crime unless you are a judge? How is he the executioner? Do you even know what you are talking about? He does invest his money into making Gotham a better place but the justice system and Gotham being corrupt as it is, it’s not really feasible to just do whatever he wanted.

Superman killed the Joker and turned into an evil dictator. If anything, Injustice proved Batman right about his idea that superheroes taking the law into their own hands was a dangerous slippery slope.

Ok then in that case Supes and Flash aren't good people either. Supes and flash let's both Luther and Joker live even though they could either kill so fast even Bats wouldn't know who did it or trap em in the speed force or phantom zone. But do they? No they let em kill and ruin lives.
