Experienced minus 35 in Saskatoon. The problem isn't your body because we all got jackets the problem is the face.

Had a -45 wind chill in maine a few years ago. Actual temperature was -35. Let's just say we had 40mph gusts blowing that day. What does that feel like? Picture yourself going outside in a blizzard in a t-shirt and shorts. Now imagine that same feeling - when you're outside and wearing multiple layers. Exposed skin hurts within a few seconds. Even with a heavy parka, you can still feel the cold through the material. You can't just dress warm - you have to dress as if you're going to the south pole.

I live in Toronto so we only get bad snow once a year for like 6 weeks, in fact we had gone 5 years without a snow day from school one time but I heard if you travel 80km north to Simcoe they sometimes go a week of school closures because of snow.
@vicgamesvt9682
@vicgamesvt9682 3 года назад
In 2018 we did get one day off of school because of ice and we got 4 more days off in 2019 because of the polar vortex but in the 2019-2020 school year we haven't had 1 day off while coronavirus did end the school year 3 months early 😂

Where was this woman?! Toronto?! I've spent my life on the prairies and anyone who has ever spent any winter months in Northern BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northern Ontario or Quebec know what -40 feels like. I don't know about the Maritime provinces....
@C-S-J
@C-S-J 3 года назад
I had to laugh at that myself. All the major cities in the prairie provinces are not unfamiliar with -40°C, though it is a lot more rare in Calgary and Edmonton than it is in Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. One day in the winter years ago when I was working in Airdrie and living in Calgary, the temperature hit a daytime _high_ of -39°C with a steady windchill factor of -56°C and gusts feeling like -76°C. It was so cold in our shop that day that we called in a commercial furnace company because we thought one or more of the furnaces were out. The furnaces were actually working fine, the seals around all of the north facing doors were not. I almost had to spend the night in a hotel that night, and I definitely would have if I didn't have studded snow tires on my car at the time. One minute onto the highway that night going home and I was already cursing myself for not staying at a hotel. The fastest I could go was 30kph, but that was only because there was another car less than half a click ahead of me and I kept their tail lights in sight. Fun fact: out of all the Canadian Provinces (Provinces only, not counting the territories), Alberta has the lowest temperature recorded, hitting -61.1°C, while the coldest temperature ever recorded anywhere in Canada was -63°C. PEI is the only Province that hasn't seen -40°C, while every Province from BC through Quebec has seen temperatures below -50°C.

Gary M correction.. was warming.. ever hear of solar cycles and grand maximums and minimums.. the ancients did. Belief requires no facts.. facts do not require beliefs. One more thing, anyone feeding you fear is misleading you.. understanding defeats fear.. stay warm ;) And look up sun cycles and grand minimums.. a good source I found was suspiciousObservers.. he will not shy from fact and data.. all links provided for your own conclusions.. yet I wonder if your serious or just here to tell us your parroted beliefs. I hope not..
