No doubt! How many other supercross team managers would you find late at night dreaming up and machining on a lathe or mill a potential new part or part improvement…even if it’s only a part improvement to keep the factory awning straighter??? Roger DeCoster is the class of class in the moto world. You could probably put the next 3 race team managers together and they still wouldn’t come close to the depth of knowledge, understanding and insight that Roger possesses!
Very transparent and straight forward . One hell of a company. Invest now. WINNER, WINNER, WINNER! Amazing. Thanks for the tour. ROGER/IAN you guys are the best. Thankyou
My lord, how sophisticated is KTM. I remember seeing a Honda factory team in 1978 at Englishtown, NJ. I think it was run out of a small truck. What a transformation in motocross.
So many absolute legends working at KTM. The Man, Ian, Kelly Lumgair. No surprise that they've been so dominant since they hired Dunge. At least until this year anyway.
Suzuki cutting Roger and Ian lose was the biggest mistake they ever have done in the motocross concern. KTM took advantage and really did set the bar. Sure motocross is a small fraction within major japanese brands but , crazy how they should have learned by watching KTM progression.
As a avid motorcycle enthusiast and spectator I had the privilege to see Roger ride for Suzuki back in the late 60s. I’ve been a fan of his ever since . He truly is a legend 👍👍
Excellent tour by John, he is an outstanding learned face for the organization. As for Professor Emeritus, Mr. Roger DeCoster, call him "The Man", "Dirty Harry", whichever. He's cooler than the other side of the pillow, has been for over 50 years. I could probably make a valid, winning argument that he's been as important to motocross & supercross as the knobby tire.
I am sure their next step is more open shops, comfortable for the mechanics, sun light, being able to look through a window, more organic ... but what a dream to work with does guys, and Yes Roger is a legend.
I always dreamed of working at the factory where they made the old Swedish Husqvarna’s but since that closed my dream died. I got a new place I’d love to work but I just can’t do California. I just better stay on the couch and dream of the good old day’s when things went ring ding ding ding….. and exhausted smelled funny.
Worst place in the world to work. If you hate orange. I don't but all the same my '07 990 Adventure was anthracite and my new 890 R is white and black (and orange).
If I get rich investing, I wonder if they'll take like a quarter million for a full blown factory bike with some legal agreement that I don't open the motor and send it out to them whenever it blows up xD
He doesn't speak too much, but when the man speaks, you can hear a sewing needle drop. They should put pictures of windows up. These guys probably burn out faster than the riders, looks like being stuck in a submarine all day every day. I never thought to thank God for bay doors with Windows.
Good video of the inside technical service of KTM factory. I always broke down my engine for maintenance each season, being a former non pro class rider. Its always good to ride what you know your riding on. Your life is basically in your own hands.
I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for a company like KTM, and the legend of Roger D (I'm nearly 60 yo so I know the history), that have done so much for MX motorsports and the incredible KTM brand. Keep improving guys !!
Manufacturers better start lobbying funds now, before nuke plants and lithium battery companies beat them to the punch, maybe they can stop the last nails in the coffin.
same here! I’m an electronics technician and the processes the master techs at KTM work under seem very similar to mine. i was really surprised by that but I can see how it really benefits the team
@@kimojon9665 Dealer just discovered it has a severely scored and cracked cylinder, and a multi cracked piston. Which was from day 1! Only has 7 hours on it and the shock is leaking also. It never had much power from the 1st minutes I bought it. The Lemon Law may apply to this one. Must have been broken or broke during the factory dyno run every KTM dirtbike goes through at the end of the assembly line.
"Take out all the variables to measure the engine performance " How about an engine only dyno ? Are you an OEM manufacturer or a speed shop ? Any idiot can buy a chassis dyno 🤣 This is not cutting edge
