I think Jennifer’s question is intelligent, however, these things are very scriptural and not cultural. And I think the issue is that in most Western cultures, everyone is so ‘woke’ that no one necessarily wants to follow scripture and then they deem it a cultural thing. For instance when people talk about submission, they believe it’s a culture thing not knowing is a biblical thing. That’s why she mentioned, respect. Granted the Nigerian culture took it too far, however it’s scriptural that you have to submit to your husband and this does not negate the part about respect; you have to respect one another. Or even the fact you have to discipline your kids. Western culture doesn’t think you should with some as far as not even telling their kids to go to school, however the scripture says you have to discipline your kids especially if you want them to turn out right. Now, has the Nigerian culture taken it too far? In some cases, yes but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t discipline your kids. Just don’t beat them so much to the point that it’s wickedness and say it’s discipline 😂 it isn’t.

Your heart should be so hid in Christ so that anyone who finds it has to go so deep in Christ to find it.

I understand Jennifer's question, and I do tend to agree that some of the generalizations about what women (in particular) want, are culturally skewed. But I also understand that the principle is the point.
