Purchased this album at flea market in Massachusetts around 1985, completely unaware of the impact it would have on my love of 60s and 70s psychedelic rock. I was 17, and it flipped the switch in my brain from nieve to enlightenment.

In 1987. someone gave me an untitled tape. One whole side was "Wring that neck". 19 minutes of masterpiece! For more than 30 years I've been looking for just that version -nobody heard about it(!?) Finally, I found it on the album "In concerts 1970-72." via You Tube. For more than half of my life, I've listened to it over 1000 times, and it still gives me goosebumps. Thank you, DP!

This is the first rock album I ever bought. While the Mark I Deep Purple wasn't as big as Mark II, they were really good. I like their cover of Help from Shades of Deep Purple for example. Not as loud or hard as Mark II, but a very good sound. I liked both though I started to lose interest around Burn.

this was the first "after Smoke on the water and child in time" song that I got to know after a live concert thanks to my brother-in-law from Deep Purple. Not bad for 1968, very creative! I wanted to be with John Lord in Lucerne, but unfortunately he passed away shortly before :-(

I remember they had their own commercial jet. The best tour was the Made in Japan. I saw them and they played about 10 songs but each was really long, thankfully so. I remember Jon Lord , in the days of first come first serve floor seating when you got near the stage albeit a tad crushed, bent down and asked this guy something during Space Truckin. He asked this guy if he was ok, apparently because he was banging his head on the stage. This guy replied something like "yeah, far out..." I only know this because I read it in either Circus or Creem. Blackmore & Pace, incredible talents.

Love Me Do and Hard Days Night and all that old crap is not the real Beetles. They weren't heart-throbs by the time Sgt Peppers came out. Too much credit - WT absolute F dude???
