Weapon that turned me into a scout main is the GK2 with electrifying reload. A single shot can kill a grunt over time, slowing them down while it happens, so you can take out whole swarms with ease. Not a direct brute power attack, to be sure, so it's not for everyone, but it meshes so well with Scout's hit & run nature that I find it very satisfying to play.

you could pick the mod that lets you run faster after you release the grapple hook and you get an on-demand dash every 3-5 seconds and go even faster as scout you become fast enough that no bug or projectile from any enemy in the game can hit you
Honestly, I just pick it for the rush I get with bursts of speed. I pair it with the smg's speed burst on kill and the dual uzi speed on reload. Feels good 😋
Just a note: if you want the most surreal experience possible while also speedrunning, play Hazard Level 1. That shit is a trip. And is also the only level I play aquarq hunting on because fuck that mission type in particular because solo mode only.
