This right here is proof that no matter the budget, if the developers care about their gane and aren't pressured into releasing it half done, any game can be great. Rock and Stone brothers.
Can I quickly draw attention to the fact the song used here is FAN MADE by the community? You wouldn't think it is, would you? Look it up seriously, DRG mining shanty. Also fun fact, the line "if you don't rock and stone you ain't coming home." Did in fact start out with the Mario VS Luigi meme. The devs are a bunch of shitposters and I love it. Nailed it with the trailer guys.
Critically underrated game. I played literally all AAA games in the past 10 years and this little indie game I had most fun during these years. Fantastic job Coffee stain and Ghost ship studios.
@@awesomesause. Btw I see Satisfactory like the anti-DRG. You still exploit a planet for its resources, but in a tidy and organised manner. You do almost no manual labour, all players are women who drink coffee, and your "mission control" is a female AI. And the biggest separator yet - DRG is Danish, and Satisfactory is Swedish.
As much as we all would love that, the multiplayer APIs are different for all systems so it's not very likely at the moment. Steam multiplayer, Xbox multiplayer and PS multiplayer don't talk to each other unless the game is designed to do so from the start, which this unfortunately wasn't. But maybe, someday in the future, maybe...
I have been playing since late January. Molly has no problem getting to the dwarves and the drop pod, but I am convinced she's purposely trying to mess the team up when she decides the best way to make it back is by climbing a sheer ledge that only the Scout can climb quickly
My buddy and I were looking for a new coop shooter (Because Back 4 Blood wasn't cutting it) and now we are addicted. The season pass isn't egregious. The progression is rewarding even if you don't spend a penny. The shooting mechanics are solid and the classes are all fun to play. I can't stop thinking about DRG. It haunts me in the best way possible.
@@friedtomato7067 And it's not an in your face kind of thing either. Like yeah it's KINDA there, in a small corner. But like, it's just cosmetics which personally is a great way to do things
@@kelmirosue3251 and I’m pretty sure after a season ends, if you missed any cosmetics from the free season pass you can still get previous season cosmetics if you find little stashes in game that give you them.
DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS. Been playing since 2018, an absolute gem. Over 1,000 hours and still playing, as well amazing devs behind this game. Also easily the best procedural generation in a game I’ve ever seen
Can you tell me what's the point of the game? Is it about surviving waves of enemies? Can you build things kinda Minecraft-esque, what's the endgame or point of the game? Can you craft weapons/gear? I just don't understand what people are finding so fantastic about the game compared to other wave survival shooters
@@gustavohuehue7460 Not at all... There's 4 classes, each with there own weapons and gadgets .. each mission in a biome is procedurally generated so it's different Everytime. The harder the difficulty the more bugs and enemies will come after you. The deeper you go, the more rewards and danger their will be. Each class has their own tools and each class helps the team in their own way and cooperation is needed for harder difficulties. It's beating the challenges, the intense fights, getting awesome cosmetics, and the experience is what keeps us playing. An he's not the only one with 1000 hours in the game.
@@gustavohuehue7460 Not at all. 1) The caves are procedurally generated, which makes every new game unique + random events add even more fun on top of that 2) There are different mission types to choose from (8 atm) 3) There are enough guns/gadgets already (3 primaries, 2 secondaries, 2 gadgets, 3 grenades for each of 4 classes) and more on the way; also perks 4) There are TONS of cosmetics to unlock/buy/craft (been playing for 700+ hours, haven't got all yet lol) 5) A lovely drone Bosco for those who enjoy solo-ing And, of course, BEER.
Deep Rock Galactic is one of my top 3 games of all time. Got hundreds of hours played it at Pc and Xbox and great to have it now at my PS5. Best co-op shooter there is in my books and great community.
@@nyuszicsib Yes, it's enjoyable solo as you have a drone available for you to command that does what another olayer could do. Some actually prefer this than relying on player dwarves but it's up to you
This is not one of the best, this is BEST co-op game I have ever played! Cause of random generated caves, tons of things to do outside missions, tons of loadout options / perks / skills / upgrades, so atmospheric and beautiful, and what is important this game has greatest developers ever. ROCK AND STONE!
@@Yoni123 randoms you mean? When selecting mission you can join someone's game or host it, so someone could join. There is no level restrictions for it (only for Deep Dive mode, which requires promotion of dwarves - level up to join / host)
@@Yoni123 It's fun. Random crews are usually very chill as long as you're playing at an appropriate difficulty level, and often even when you're in way over your head they'll happily carry you.
I played this game on PC waaay back when in beta, when there were only like 3 mission types, 1 boss enemy, and a few basic fodder enemies. Had so much fun in coop with a friend, but they eventually got tired of it, and randoms just... weren't the same. Fast forward more than a year, and my PS4 friend group is complaining that the PS+ free games are always super lame. Decided to check, and lo and behold... Deep Rock Galactic. I convinced everybody to download it. Felt more like the commander of the squad, showing the rookies the ropes and what to look out for, and we've been hauling more morkite and aquarq than I ever have before. Rock and stone, Ghost Ship. Rock and stone.
Aye! I got nearly 700 hours clocked on steam. I bought it Day one pretty much when I found out it was a Dwarf game and when it's like L4D in away if you think about it. I love how it's grew and became the game we know of today
So happy this game is coming on the PlayStation, this is by far the most fun and best co-op game out there. I've been playing this for a very long time on PC glad that my friends on Playstation can finally experience this
@@dilangoblin3760 Yeah it's still fun, you have an AI Drone that follows you that can attack, mine minerals that you can't reach and give you light. But if you want to do harder missions? Your gonna need help because it's hard ... Like punishing hard but the rewards are way greater.
Please, Playstation enjoyers, do NOT sleep on this gem of a game. Whether you play with close friends, randoms online, or prefer to lone wolf it: grab this title. A wonderful community awaits you with nary a cash-shop in sight. Rock and Stone, An Xbox fanboy.
All my playstation peeps, let's make a thriving community for this awesome co-op game! I played it for years on pc and it's one of the most pure fun games I've ever played especially with friends -or strangers! *rock and stone*
It's honestly a masterpiece that would deserve more recognition. The devs are also a bunch of true bros; you just buy the game, and you got everything you ever need.
I am ADDICTED to this game. Characters are so well balanced. People work together like Battlefield 3 in terms of playing their class. Imagine Overwatch + Minecraft + Your favorite shooter.
Fun fact, the music is actually a remix of a fan made song. By ANOTHER fan. The devs seem to care for their community and added pointless requests like petting many things and taking back a broken robot back to the drop pod.
I have this game on STEAM PC, it's absolutely fantastic! So glad to see it finally come to PS. Fantastic coop action, more polished and supported by the devs than most AAA games.
Long time player here, give it a go. top 100 best rated game on steam. Endless enjoyment. As well it's a quiet period before the crazy 2022 releases :)
@@7amid- The server browser is very user friendly and tells you pretty clearly what you're getting into with each mission, and what classes are there already. You can join before a mission starts in the space rig lobby (and take advantage of a buff beer), or you can join a mission in progress. You can also start your own mission/server at any time. In Steam, the server browser even tells you if any of your Steam friends are in a particular mission, so you can drop in if you choose.
Oh man, Playstation owners got quite the gift with this one. It continues to be my favorite coop game ever. I have fewer hours with it than Destiny 2 or Monster Hunter, but the time I have had has been much more consistently pleasant.
What made play this game nearly every day is that I love Dwarves and I don’t know another game that includes them in the more Si-Fi type of genre other then probably Warhammer
the coolest part of this is the fact the brand new port is releasing for free. i suggest you guys buy the DLC even if you don't want it cuz the devs are worth supporting
@Sterling Archer That's the point. Totally optional, won't effect your gameplay at all. Get them cuz you like them, the game, the devs. Or don't, also ok.
@@JimmyEres yeah but you need ps plus to play it. I might as well buy ps plus since I can't play without it. Plus Sony surely paid the developers to get this game on launch day
A truly amazing experience. And the best part is the community mainly - really welcoming, fair, and friendly people are playing this game for a longer time.
DRG is amazing. Played a ton when it launched on early access on Xbox. Game was great then and is even better with polish. I've never played it much solo, but a blast with friends. Definitely recommend it for all the PS peeps out there!
I simply love this game, have 500h in it and am very happy it comes on the Playstation. I really hope you enjoy this gem, it's by far the best coop-shooter out there.
i just realized the dwarves in the drop pod in the begining of the trailer are kitted out to look like the dwarves in the video of Deep Rock Shanty's remix NICe
Rock and Stone to the bone! A few months back, I went into my local game shop, and one of the other customers had a shirt that had a mining pick clenched in a fist holding up and sideways with the text "Hoxxes, here I come!" on it. I got his attention and lifted up a Minecraft pickaxe and went "Rock and Stone Brother!" his face LIT UP and returned in kind. We then spent about 5 - 10 seconds pointing at the floor and saying "We're rich!" over and over. F*CK I love this community! P.S. he made the shirt himself.
DRG is so much fun, with great Support and a Team behind the Game love and feel it. So far the best Coop Game on the Market?!? Rock and Stone Brothers!
Played this game during my stint with covid and it’s become my favorite game to play after work. I wish I knew of it sooner. I can’t wait to see where it goes next
Simple graphics, Simple premise. But every single thing has been polished and balanced to perfection. One of my favorite games of all time Satoru Iwata said once " Over all things games are supoussed to be one thing, and one thing only". Fun, Fun for everyone.
So between this Legends Hunters arena and maybe 1 game i fail to remember the name, it seems that 1 of the 3 games that comes out is like never been out for PS before. Because i have never heard of this, and its never been on PS. Anyone else sorta noticing that?
Realmente soy adicto a este juego, llevo unos cuantos días desde que lo probé y siempre es divertido hacer nuevas misiones, hace mucho que no me divertía tanto y me sentía tan atrapado por un juego como lo es este, una verdadera joya!
