Of course, my teammates always ignore the dang thing so I basically have to spend the entire mission sitting on its shoulder and sometimes even refuel myself.
@@martinc9510 I like not being filled with daylight. Fought Bet-C with two other friends. All gunners. One lead storm and two double barrel cannons. Barely made it out alive. All of us finished it off with our sidearms because we were already quite light on ammo as it was. Nerve racking. Solo'd one once. I did it, but I regret it.
@@Onio_Saiyan I was playing a game of the blue crystal extraction (cant remember name) and I hear a low pulsing sound... Coming from somewhere and I was fucking really trying to remember what it came from. Went behind the MineHead to get the last blue rock and turns out? Bet-C just standing there... Boy am I glad there was a big ass pillar in line of sight, got my achievement and hated that sound ever since
Wait... So that pulsating sound I hear every now and then whenever I go into a cave is just a Dormant BET-C Waiting for a victim? Now I can't shake that thought off when I hear that sound
you get a killer death machine if you beat it so not really. Just target the parasites on it and use cover whenever you are targetted, as if it was an FPS game (it is an FPS game)
Not much worse than dropping into a cave and immediately hearing the BET-C pulsating sound in the distance like “ohhhhh no I have to deal with that eventually…”
Doretta is horribly built in terms of ethics, they're sending a robot with feelings on a suicide mission. Can feel pain in some form and is also afraid of death, when it finally completes it's mission, it gets ejected from it's tank chassis like a violent exorcism. The only true friends it will ever know is the playerbase. Edit: also they didn't even have the basic decency to give doretta spare canisters, which means that they truly do not care enough to even give her enough to complete the mission in one go. Another point to go on is that there also is turrets that they've made, that they could probably easily supply doretta for some even simple self defense Also ghost ship Games, if you ever read this, give the engineer the ability to place turrets on doretta. She must be protected
Teams are at most made up for 4 dwarves... ...and there is no restriction against playing a team with multiples of the same class... ...and the Engineers can have at most 2 sentries... This means that Doretta MUST have at least *8* sentry building spots on her back! :v

The pulsating sound is inspired from somewhere else just like the Power Up Foghorn. I hear the same sound in my town at night and I'm not sure if it's a railway junction or some sort of a factory armed alarm that sounds like that but damn it reminds me of BET-C every damn time.
The sound designers for Deep Rock are out of this world good. I struggle to hear any stock FX in this game, everything's so unique to this experience and this experience alone. It's absolutely terrific.
It might be because you havent been around most stock sounds? Ive noticed a lot of stock sounds, they just overlay it with a bunch of others so it isnt as obvious. I recall hearing the lightsaber ignition sound when repairing the uplink, and the stock jackhammer sound for the Lithophage rock crackers
@@jetrexdesign I still agree that it's great sound design to pretty much bury all of it so that you need to try and hear the stock sounds, the mixing job is fantastic
@@jetrexdesign The Mactera Grabber sounds are also stock SFX, I know this because it's the same sound those godforsaken Vespoids and Bnahabra from Monster Hunter make... which only elevates the level of panic I feel whenever one of the suckers is around (I have had numerous traumatic experiences with Vespoids and Bnahabra).
I heard a lot of stock sounds such as the flying bugs screaming which sounded alot like the bnahabra in monster hunter as well as some of the sounds in some menu options within the game
Continuing the main comment, after a few minutes of hearing that pulsing, you then hear a distant *KA-CHUNK* followed by a tremor in the ground. Then silence, few seconds later, you hear the fog horn, more seconds, you then hear what seem to be thundering metal footsteps from the distance getting close and closer, louder and louder….
@@limechip You see a laser pierce the distance, before locking into a nearby tree and deafen you with a barrage of lights and gunshots. It locks onto you.
Honestly, there's a lot of people noticing how good the sound design is. It's quite good and really scary as well. Bulk detonator screams, mactera grabbers, betc pulses, I can name many bone chilling sounds. Amazing work
When I can I always scratch Doretta (and even save her head), but then I discovered that you can even scratch the Hacking Drone We must preserve our robots feelings
Gullotine it (drop a supply pod on it for some easy damage) Nuke it after (driller bombs) Then spray n pray till she falls (just fire your guns) That is a strategy to dealing with them
The sound FX in this game is honestly kinda underrated because it really does make you feel a certain way, you could be a totally new player and hear the BET-C boot up sound and still think "oh shit"
Encountering a BET-C used to be an exciting event, in no small part due to the mysterious sounds she makes. Why the fog horn? The pulsating? This is inspired sound design.
1:41 Listening to Dotty howl with pain always makes me feel so distressed. I have to punch myself just so I don't drop what I'm doing to perform repairs. My job is to shoot bugs, the engie does the repair work.
One time I was on an escort and we drop in and hear "BWWWAAAARRPP BBBRRRWAAARRRRP BWAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa" and we're like "fuuuuuuuuuuuuucccckkkk" and we don't see the BET-C the ENTIRE mission until Doretta broke into the final room and we hear all of BET-C's sounds at once. Turns out she was SITTING ON THE DOOR so Doretta just killed her with the drill instantly.
The first time I encountered BET-C I had the squidward steps for the mule (which also replaces BET-C's ones) and when I heard that power up horn, I thought it was the mod since that sound appeared in SpongeBob xdddd
