There will be of snags, drops, tangles, cracks and so on you spearfishing life... It's just a matter of time until it happens. Just stay cool and stick to the plan :) dive clever and safe :)
Is it Giannis or Manolis who has a warning/disclaimer about the dangers of (deep) spearing before each of his videos? Thing is, I don't want "American conditions" where you have to warn and babysit your viewers but you're a top athlete (and a cool cat overall) who has great, knowledgeable buddies but spearing is supposedly booming with an influx of young, impressionable kids and I, personally, don't want them to think they should all go out and do +30m, 3min dives. It takes a long while to get there so while I really appreciate the knowledge you share on your channel, a part of me feels it may be time to incorporate a bit of a "warning", too;). With influence comes responsibility and while every cool kid wants to be a ninja consider reminding them that ninja school supposedly takes years of discipline and humility;). Besides that, cool to have you back!
Hiya! Cool cat speaking, haha :) Yes, I saw those warnings. But I have a very different opinion regarding them :) I think it triggers a different response in people other than 'wow, I should be careful from now on'. To me, it's like a tag that the protagonist of the video is 'badass' and 'above' the viewer. 'I do it, you can't/shouldnt'. I think there is nothing special in how we spearfish. Deeper, longer, more relaxed, whatever it is - we took the time and persistently trained. Anybody (more or less) could. Once people go spearfishing they will probably see that it is a tad moore difficult than what they constantly see in those videos. One warning I would consider putting is that 'The dangerous-ness of the sea is only rivaled by the stupidity of a diver/spearo'. We have the potential to make it dangerous, to hurt ourselves, to fck up lives of our own and the people around us.
@@mufazalov Sorry for the late reply - Somehow, I don't get notifications when someone replies to my post anylonger. That said, it's a good answer and I respect your view - and that disclaimer would be cool, haha. Personally, I still think I am somewhere in the middle. I have seen dozens of beginner freedivers when training at my friend's freedive school over the years and if we liken it to spearing, it's true that the majority of people find out that it's much harder than it looks and adjust their approach accordingly. But I have also seen a few people who just don't really feel the urge to breathe (dangerous) and a much bigger handful of medium-advanced divers who just have a number in their head and push too much. Now, on a freediving line, while I personally would not push to the limit, it can be argued that it is relatively safe to push a little. Not so in spearing. So, I probably took what I have seen with freedivers over the years and thought "how would this behaviour translate if these people started spearing...?". Anyways, I will stop rambling now:)
This was amazing! I felt I lost the rubra when it went under the rock. Started kicking my feet in the bed to bring myself to the surface. And then there is a surprise on the surface! :) very nice :)
Another HoldDiveShoot will be there in a couple of days :) In terms of preparations, check out the first episodes of Encyclopedia, it covers some of 'before the dive' stuff...
Seninle daliş harikaydi tesekkurler;videolarini cogaltman dilegiyle...kilonu ve 25-30 metre derinlige kac kg bel agirligi ile daldigini ögrenebilir miyim?
Great video, as always and very clever concept. Your Hold Dive Shoot videos are my favorites. Glad they are back. Did you take a brake from spearfishing for a while, or just from filming/producing content ? Keep up your incredible work, your channel is miles ahead of every other spearo channels out there. Thank you !
Hi Nic! Actually, I was spearfishing all year round, but never got around to post anything. We started working on new spearfishing projects in the meantime, but they are far from being finished. But they will rock. Hopefully :)
Ohh man , You can not imagine how many Amberjack ive already shoot with you :)) This 5 video is my training here at lockdown during 2020, i love the music, what is the name of the song which sounds during the first dive?
Great vid anvar,,,but,,,30+ is too much for me,,,i can do freedive with that depth ,,but spearfishing,,mybe i stick to 20 max for now...but ur vid verry inspiring,,thanks mate
