Deep Yellow Ltd. is an advanced exploration and development uranium company focused on its Uranium assets in Australia and Namibia. The company’s Namibian projects include the Tumas project, which is currently being progressed through a definitive feasibility study (DFS), and the Omahola project undergoing various exploration initiatives. The Australian assets of the company consist of the Mulga Rock and Alligator River projects. The Mulga Rock project is one of Australia’s largest undeveloped uranium resources and consists of two mining areas over a total length of 30 km. The Alligator River project is the largest granted uranium exploration package in the world and covers a total area of 3,895 km2.
Borshoff believes that the nuclear industry is still lacking a certain degree of initiative and that more momentum is needed to drive the industry further. He believes that the momentum may come from small modular nuclear reactor (SMR) producers as well as from the public support the Nuclear Industry experiences due to its zero-emission nature.
Deep Yellow Ltd. is underway with correctly positioning itself to be able to initiate production at its operations once the uranium price has reached an economically sustainable price. Borshoff believes that the uranium price will increase as the need and scarcity of uranium increases. The need for uranium, primarily by utility companies, has only been accelerated by the Russia-Ukraine conflict but was inevitable.
The future of the nuclear industry, according to Borshoff, will see diverse sources of uranium supply including not only the Athabasca Basin but also Australia, Kazakhstan and African countries such as Niger and Namibia.
