Love it when they list the tyrants, no mention of American tyrants. Iraq war shock and awe anyone? Capital punishment? Homelessness in the richest country in the world. I could go on.
There are people who have literally $0 in their bank accounts and can't afford their kids next meal. Salary caps is much needed...Japan has it in their culture...
I'll be honest. I shut this off at 51S because I'm sick to death of people with money explaining to us "idiots" that money doesn't buy blah, blah, blah. Tell that to poor/low-income/homeless folx who struggle to pay for housing, medications, food, and other basic necessities. Money does buy happiness. And that happiness comes from having food, shelter, and basic human needs fulfilled.
The world is showing off their wealth as if it buys happiness. No. It helps in survival and daily needs you know. But people forget that and get into addiction of shopping. So a very relatable message
@@oliviamartinez5788 I had same challenges until I started working with Sir Graham David Fullerton. A professional trader and licensed broker who has been handling my trades.
I think Trevor had no choise. He seems to cringe a bit during the whole thing. Deepak offers no reason, evidence or insights even. Just postulates. Charlatan and fool.
@@implied1006 Deepak Chopra is a pseudoscience peddling con artist that uses scientific jargon to fool desperate people into buying his books, which have no empirical value or support.
Yes “some people are so poor all they have is money”, but most people are so poor because all they don’t have is money. There are many sides to be addressed.
I don't normally take issue with _The Daily Show_ or Trevor Noah, but I cannot take this guy seriously. I mean look him up. He's billed as the wealthiest figure in _"alternative_ medicine." You know what they call alternative medicine that _works?_ Medicine. So could someone pay for his alternative medicine with alternative _money?_ He has unflattering things to say about Putin. That's not exactly a credential. Rare is the individual, nowadays, who _doesn't._ Is that the detail we're seizing on to support this guy's claims of _merit?_
You must be a very lucky person if traditional western medicine has addressed the ailments you have experienced. Count yourself blessed and live up life, while you can! 😃 Even licensed medical doctors in the West refer patients to alternative medicine. Deepak’s business partner Dr David Simon, who helped established the Chopra Center, was a neurosurgeon at one of the most predominant hospitals in San Diego. He recognized that western medicine training was incomplete.
This really was irresponsible. If Trevor asked him how it felt to build an empire on the backs of his victims, then it may have been a legitimate interview. This was just exposing trevors audience to a dangerous con artist with 0 context while pushing profits towards him. There is so much going on in the world that could be relevant to trevor’s audience, but instead he puts this sociopath on and hawks his material. Very disappointed in the best late show host for this slip up. Maybe a special on why people who prey on the uninformed for money in exchange for false hope is in the works?
@@deepika2644 I normally don't say things like this but I think that this would be a reply that someone like you would give and therefore would also be able to understand. Here it comes: "DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!"
"Some people are so poor that all they have is money", Ha, that's rich, coming from the mouth of rich people. How about some people are so poor that they live and sleep on the street with empty stomach? Not enough? Add mental health issue and loneliness on top of that then just like most U.S homeless experienced.
The man is a dangerous capitalist wanna be cult leader. He deliberately muddles facts for profits and has like 0 experience that should make him listened to.
Not having money most often buys unhappiness. Although that is not an absolute, just helps gettin' ya on the right road, oooops, path to, .... if not unhappiness, at least unnecessary struggle.
THANK YOU! I was so annoyed when he just said no, then said it doesn't buy security as a blanket statement. He'd do better just to say too much of anything is bad... and don't start me on karma...putin couldn't live long enough to experience all the negative karma he deserves
Such a glamorous world we love in. According to Dr. Pseudoscience we all have an abundance of wealth and all we have to do with our lives is to harvest joy before we die The whole positive energy thing makes me sick when I try to picture children of all kinds of suffering and abuse
Actually, forgiving your old abusers is the ONLY way to heal from trauma. Harvesting joy is the only way to survive traumatic situations you cannot get out of. You’re wrong in your assessment of how much internal joy is necessary for an abused child.
Of all people that could be interviewed to analyze Putin, why give a plataform to a man universally criticized as a quack by any serious professional in his field?

Trevor is normally very smart, but his decision to give a platform to a professional con man and not hold that con man's feet to the fire for his lying has diminished my opinion of Trevor.
The only thing I can imagine is that Trevor didn’t know who he was… but Trevor usually does his research, so promoting this socioprick is baffling and making me question whether anything I’ve heard on the daily show is worth believing.
....oh no. Well that's another notch down in the credibilty rating. But the daily show was never the epitome of info so nothing lost. But still...they couldn't find a legit psychologist or something?
Whatever qualms people have with Chopra, the spiritual side of things is a perspective that he articulates well and helps many people experience deeper joy in life and make sense of the world. If you have suggestions of less controversial figures for Trevor to bring on for this perspective then share them. I suggest Eckhart Tolle.
Hearing the same age old tired cliche that “money doesn’t buy happiness” from a shyster who normally sports diamond encrusted glasses is the height of hypocrisy.
First Sadhguru and now Deepak Chopra? I'd prefer if voices of pseudoscientific frauds and scammers were not amplified on respectable shows, even if they are talking about a reasonable topic for a change. If you want to know why I call those two people scammers and frauds, I'll let Professor Dave explain: On Deepak Chopra: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aQTWor_2nu4.html On Sadhguru: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q6FknMOlU_w.html
Thanks for asking that question because I want to know the answer. This is a word salad expert who will say absolutely nothing after talking non-stop for 5 minutes.
I have read his book on quantum healing a decade ago when I first became very ill with a rare condition. I don't remember him ever trying to sell me anything or profit from me in any way other than I down loaded his book. What exactly does he do that "preys" on cancer patients?
@@GamingNationShm chemo is 90% ineffective. Also not used to treat my type of cancer (I found out from another doc). But my teeth are still falling out and I cant eat like a human. Healthcare is filled with scams... Those things you called modern medicine. Lol. Cancer doesnt have a real treatment (allowed to be used) so this guy is the same minus cutting into people.
Please stop giving obvious con artists and snake oil salesmen a national platform. He's not an "alternative view", or "another side of the story". Nor is he innovative or practicing any kind of peer reviewed science. He's a profitable scam artist that actively harms the public with fortune cookie nonsense. You really should know better than this.
I’m a bit concerned that someone that so grossly peddles pseudoscience for a living gets this attention. Please don’t repeat this. Saving lives is great but he distracts people from working medicine by his “alternative medicine”.
You’re not getting it. Of course some money is needed for safety and security in the survival sense, so obviously that’s not what he is saying. Look: Lack of money of course brings insecurity and risk, SOME money can you give you moderate safety and security but at some point the curve inverses and A LOT OF MONEY actually can’t buy you safety and security no matter how much money you throw at it and in fact is in and of itself a source of risk and insecurity. Go to any wealthy person’s neighborhood and they all have security, high walls and cameras. It’s like prison compounds. Why do you think this is necessary? Because they don’t feel safe and aren’t secure. This doesn’t happen in middle class neighborhoods because lots of money actually breeds insecurity and leads to risk. This video is for people who have SOME money and what he is saying is: beyond the immediate survival needs (shelter, safety) money won’t buy you more safety and security. (On the contrary you’re now at risk for theft and swindling.)
@Alpha Andromeda "no no no no no no when he said 'money doesn't buy you safety and security' he didnt actually mean "money doesn't buy you safety and security" that would be ridiculous" 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@Demilich23 suppose you are a child who is raised in a very wealthy environment, but one or both parents are abusive. Does all the money supply safety for the wealthy kid? Not really. Not at all actually, the money is a prison for the child that protects the abuser in this circumstance. I have had nothing and I have had (some) money. Money can be used to keep you stuck, for someone to control you, why do you think there are battered women’s shelters in every city? Money has kept a lot of people in very abusive situations and they leave it all behind for the opportunity to start from scratch where they have absolutely nothing except for the clothes on their back. Money is a tool. It can not buy you safety if the humans around you do not care about money.
sorry, Trevor I 100% adore and support you and your work (watching from the South of France) . But this guy, I honestly cannot stand. No charlatans for me. Next video, I will watch again. This one I skipped after the first minutes
Trevor you are smarter than this . Did your employer make you flog his book? Did he pay your show.? There are no effing chakras. Chakras are a false medical/ religious claim. His redefining of Chakras in this presentation is kind of his M.O. He is always renaming and redefining things to make himself sound like he actually knows something special. His spa used to offer Aurevedic astrology which endorses the absurd notion that ones personality and fate is determined by star positions at the moment you are born. Frankly is labeling a child with this or that characteristic based on a birth date different than labeling by ethnicity?. It is prejudice. He wrote in an earlier book that he had literally physically levitated!. He uses the word Quantum in ways physicists know are false. He claims he will live to 100 and that he willed himself to stop aging. But if you look at his image in recent years he grows wrinkly and thin like a normal aging human. I have the wisdom of Chopra without the nonsense which I will demonstrate... "Do not obsess about things you cannot control. Eat plenty of vegetables and exercise. Sleep well with regular hours. Enjoy life and the beauty of nature. Avoid substance abuse. Beware of wasting money on expensive items that you can do without. Be kind to people and animals . Accept unexpected problems and move forward." Don't buy books from self appointed gurus that deny material reality. Look at the wikipedia article on the guy before misleading your audience
As someone who has only very recently been walking a conscious, intentional spiritual path, I understand the cynicism here in these comments. There is certainly a paradox, that this spiritual man is also rich; but does that deserve automatic condemnation? There are some very monetarily "poor" cultures that are some of the "happiest", most content people on earth. Perhaps it's a deeper issue in our culture that our definition of "poor" has more to do with disempowerment than how much money we have. This is how capitalism works, by repressing the masses so a small percentage of people can carry all the money and power and calling that "freedom". Just as we can say money can't buy happiness, happiness does not necessarily mean you have money. We see it in the media constantly; wealthy people in power, behaving badly and clearly not at peace with themselves. This certainly is not my definition of "happiness". Blessings to you all.
The rich stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then the poor stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich
My first investment with Mr Modest gave me profit of over $24,000 Us dollars and ever since then he has never failed to deliver and I can even say he's the most sincere broker I have known
I respectfully disagree with Chopra here. Money does buy you most things, especially if you're living in a Capitalist, materialistic society where literally everything is tied to making money. If you make enough money, you can literally increase your attractiveness and find true love. You can travel the whole world. You can live a much better healthy lifestyle with your own personal trainers/dietician who will keep your health in check. You'll have access to the highest quality food, education, and opens door to many opportunities in life.
Aside the questionably of the interviewee, but to be truly joyful is illegal in many places, ESPECIALLY if you are poor or a woman or a member of a minority. People hate joyful people who do not rely on external things for their happiness because it deeply threatens people psychologically. If you have money on the other hand and you are a man, no one will mind if you’re joyful or not because you are in power.
Joy does threaten people psychologically especially the kind not reliant on material things. Maybe the accompanying lesson should be: how to hide your joy …
The fact that he so proudly mischaracterized Bob Marleys words as a lyric in a song and not an aligning theory or response to a question, made me question the validity of everything that followed.
Talks were pretty ok but after 3:30 they showed their true self. They're potraying putin as their own american presidents has been some kind of saint for middle east and vietnam Afghanistan etc. 😂
I’m shocked to see so much hate on here for Deepak Chopra. Some are even styling him as a “quack” - which of course he’s not, since he’s in fact a licensed medical doctor and neuroendocrinologist. So what the heck is all this hate towards this man for? I just don’t get it. I’ve read some of his books, and he’s proven to possess a true grasp on real science, which he then tries to tie into a search for the true essence of man.
Deepak Chopra has no idea what it is to be poor. All rich people say money does not buy you joy/happiness. Ask a person who has no money to put food on the table. I am sure that person would be joyous if they had money to put food on the table.
I think it's about balance... that why survival is the first chakra... without having the safety and survival needs taken care of, you cannot ascend to experiencing sensual pleasures and the other chakras... so money is the first step, it is a means but not an end... but Yes he is a real fraud.
I'm very disappointed that you gave air time to someone who has promoted so much pseudoscience. If this is who you want to be I will have to stop listening to what you have to say.
I like spending money on things that I can learn something from. I spent money on materials and equipment to turn my grill into a cold smoker after I learned what one was. Then I taught myself how to make NOVA Lox. It was fun and it made me happy.
Why does Mr Chopra excludes infamous American leaders such as Trump or Bush from his karma messages? He apparently addressed Russian people to step up and end this regime. Why did he not ask American people to do the same when Trump was in administration. I admire the achievements of Mr Chopra but it’s safe for him to judge when being in a safe haven. It might have been more interesting discussing an unbalanced first chakra which leads to territorial behavior.
😭but then Cecil Rhodes that caused that tyrant was a horrific man too ! 😱. As a South African I sympathise with coming from a beautiful country with beautiful people known for terrible things 😭
*actual* scientific research says that money DOES buy you happiness up to a living wage and then it's effect falls off. (at the time it was 70k but this was a while go) if you cant pay rent, more money will in fact make you more happy
This is the only time I've been sad to see the guest Trevor has on. Chopra is at best a con-man who sells utter nonsense couched in the language of science and mysticism
You hate Deepak Chopra? Because you don't want the world to awaken. And then very conveniently, you will throw in words like fraud, conman, scammer with no evidence OR shady sources...
