No one could have pulled off Baazigar..It's a tailor made role for Shah Rukh Khan..Shah Rukh Khan single-handedly made Baazigar possible otherwise it would have never got hit to its credit
Shah Rukh did well. The film did well. However, until you see every other possible actor do a worse job, I don’t think you can say the film only did so well because of Shah Rukh. So, fan boy, wipe yourself down, pull up you trousers, wash your hands and get a tiny thing called Life. You might enjoy it.

Now I am feeling sad for Him... But SRK was the perfect choice for that role and no one could have pulled off the screenplay of Bazigaar better than Abbas Mustan!
Deepak in JJWS as shekhar malhotra was simply outstanding.. he had the attitude and temperament of a typical Boarding school brat. SNOB and arrogant at the same time responsible and a true leader . nobody cud hv played shekhar so well. he outsmarted sanjay lal in the movie . one wud like to be shekhar in real life n not sanjey
The “Baazigar” story doesn’t sound too well. The casting took a while for this movie. So many actors were approached including Salman, Anil Kapoor, Arbaaz, Akshay,.. Everyone rejected it because of the risk it carried as a negative character. The director-duo happened to meet SRK accidentally at the Tips office and narrated the story to him. SRK spontaneously agreed to do because he wanted to do intensive roles. I’m confused as to why the directors would keep offering the movie to other actors when the hero was fixed right at the start. Someone needs to reach out to the directors to verify this bit although, SRK did a wonderful job. It’s very rare that such plots are complimented by equally good performance by the lead actor.
That's because SRK wasn't a star. Baazigar was supposed to be made with an actor who wasn't accepted by the audience as a hero but had some experience as a lead actor. If Salman or Akshay had done the film, the film would have been made differently. The lead hero would have not had a negative shade. When SRK came in his movies mostly had him in a supporting role, let it be Deewana, Dil hai Ashna, Chamatkar and a few others. SRK was signing films were he wasn't given the most important role of the film. It was more of a supporting role. Just like Kabhi haan kabhi na where SRK doesn't get the girl. The good luck SRK had was a lot of charisma despite over acting in those movies. SRK looked good in those roles and the fans accepted him. For a normal actor kabhi haan kabhi naa would make him look like a zero. In Darr he would loose all future roles if Sunny looked heroic. I would say it's luck and charm that made SRK shine in those movies. After those movies SRK refused to do negative roles so that he could be an action or Romantic actor. This would label him as a top star of the 90s.
No one else in Bollywood would have performed better than SRK in Baazigar. Not in a million years! The same goes for SRK's role in Darr. We would not be talking about Baazigar or Darr if someone else did those roles. His performances in a villain's role are at a completely different level that no one could reach.
In my assessment I always liked Deepak Tijori in a negative role. Somehow his aura and face suits someone better for negative roles. I can't imagine him romancing heroine and me gushing over him. It's just like Amrish Puri a great actor but will be a total misfit as Romantic hero . Wish Deepak gets more character roles. He is a good actor.

Srk is a very hardworking actor there is no doubt but at the same time he is lucky too... because actor of his generation like Rahul Roy, dipak tijori, Ronit Roy etc are not as lucky as him..
If given the chance I think Deepak would have aced it. I know most people can't imagine anyone other than Shah Rukh doing this role but that's because SRK performed really well in it. Deepak was and is a good actor too. I definitely think he should come back with a well molded character and thought through script.
Literally, the worst interviewer I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. The interviewee tells the story of a missed opportunity so passionately. The incident still clearly pinches him today. The interviewer’s response was not only pathetic, but also grossly insulting: ‘moving on’ , she says. Where do these pre-pubescent kids pop up from?!

After missing out on Baazigar later on Abbas-Mastaan had cast him in Baadshah in a cameo role perhaps hoping to cast in future too but it was surely too late too little.
it was nice of deepak sir to step away nicely but he should say a word that Baazigar became a cult movie because of Shah rukh. also the script changed a lot in the process

Pawns would say that overacting master PiggyLipped SRK did justice to Baazigar but they are imagining him because the story and concept was stole from Dipak Tijori. Dipak did iconic villainous roles.

between Baazigar n Baadshah, lots of things changed. At the time of Baazigar, Deepak was doing a few lead roles ( like her had an equal role to SKR in KHKN ) - but almost all his lead roles flopped and he was not getting lead roles later - so by the time Baadhshah came, he was again given side roles ( he actually started with side roles too )
