@@cottonbuddy absolutely, it shouldn't be surprising how long truly well engineered products can perform and last. Something nearly all other companies nowadays seem to skip on in some measure or another.
@@FirestormX9 Still doesn't make sense why d15 is the best for 9 years. Not only all the rivals, some of which are much bigger companies, couldn't make a better product, but the Noctua itself can't make a better one as well.
Deep Cool has come on (this year) with great performing, great looking, and vg priced pc components ….AIO’s, cpu coolers, fans, cases etc 🥰😇💪👍. Cudo’s to them for really shaking up the market and pushing its competitors to do a lot more than just adding lcd screens and rgb imo 👍💪. Awesome review once again Nada & the Techtesters team 🥰😇……we can always count on a very informative and comprehensive look at a product and its features and performance! Cheers 🍻
I recently did a build using a Noctua cooler for the 13th generation Core i5 processor. I did not pick the D15; it is something a little less massive. I also added on some Noctua fans in the case in addition to the 2 that are on the Noctual cooler. The person I built this for is very sensitive to noise levels. I'm pleased to say I have not had a single complaint about noise -- not one. So at this point I feel a Noctua cooler plus Noctua brand fans are my best bet for a reasonably priced build that keeps the cpu reasonably cool for a person who is writing books and conducting extensive academic research. If the DeepCool product has more fan noise I won't build with it. I'm not sure what quality of support either Noctua or DeepCool offer their customers. Fortunately, Noctua has really great installation videos and that helps a lot. But these videos are only one part of the overall support level.
I REALLY like the design of this cooler, sleek, but still kinda industrial. Not a childish "xXGAM3ERRXx" look, but a mature but cool design which I could see both in gaming as well as workstation builds.
Noctua FTW. Great product and even better after sales. They sent me a replacement fan clip for free years after i've bought the cooler. Well worth the money you paid for.
Techtesters is definitely my favourite tech-tuber. I'd love to see some behind the scenes or more casual videos on the channel too. Maybe we could see the workspace which is used and some of the testing processes?
It looks like they prioritized aesthetics a little more with this cooler, which is fine since it still does fairly well going by your charts and Hardware Canucks'. Makes me wonder if someone will make an absolute D15 killer (beyond margin of error difference, noise-normalized) soon, though, because clearly the new generation of GT-like fans everyone is making are quite good. I personally want a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 with Silent Wings 4 fans since I like Be Quiet's sound signature. Thanks for the review!
I'm really looking forward to a Dark Rock Pro with the new fans, I'm sure that will be released rather sooner than later, but Noctua themselves are cooking up a D15 successor, that will definitely be a force to be reckoned with!
@@ireeb Iirc Gamers' Nexus said that it'l probably be ~2-4 degrees cooler. I wonder if Noctua will modernize the successor to the D15, with better looks and support more RAM sticks.
It's crazy I've had my D-15 for 3 years and still working like a champ! Best investment I made on my gaming pc and all I need now is to upgrade to the 5800X3D.
Due to the limited space I have on my desk, I am considering buying the Deepcool CH160 as my next tower, and the Assassin 4S as a cooler. And since I don't like glass panels, Deepcool also makes the Air Panel 100 as an accessory, all in full white
Kudos to Deepcool! Due to availability in PH, Deepcool will be the choice. But even if Noctua is available, I lean towards what's new given price and competitive performance
Loved your presentation, you're the queen of CPU Air Cooler for i9 13900K processor, watched your all Air Cooler videos & its helped me a lot to know in one place. So far so good, keep up the good job. Thank You. ❤❤.
It was a mistake to not put fans in front of the case. The only negative to the Assassin-IV is the Pull-Pull fan design which means there is a lot of resistance getting air into the first fan. This means the Assassin-IV is extremely reliant on a case design that can deliver lots of fresh air to the immediate vicinity surrounding the front of the cooler. Its unfair to try and test such a unique design with no regard to intake air.
Assassin IV is better in my book. I really don't care if my CPU runs 5 degree celcius hotter. Assassin IV looks so much nicer, all 4 RGB RAM sticks are visible and it can actually keep i9 13900K cool. I don't need anything else. Acoustics performance is also fine to me.
The looks and convenience are probably enough to push the Assassin IV over the noctua for me, even more so when you can run the fans in silent mode for most CPU's that don't draw as much power as the 13900. That being said, the Deepcool AK500 I'm using is already plenty good for my CPU, so won't upgrade anytime soon
The rear fan is right up against the rear fan of the Assassin IV causing turbulence and likely hampering performance. The Assassin IV is designed around the very fair assumption that you'll have a case intake fan blowing right at it which as was even pointed out is a very realistic scenario. Whereas the Noctua benefits more from the exhaust fan. The test should have been designed for equity - not equality.
I still use my Nvidia 980Ti, old card, and I thought it looked big on my case, but wow, that graphics card you have inside the case is humongous ha ha . 🤣😂
Performance was not "impressive" but wasn't bad. Design it's so COOL and CLEANING, aesthetic so 🥰😍🥵and finally 100% compatibility with all RAMs, if you liked so much RGB with hight profile. And if you wanted "more perfomance" we can add third fan 120mm, and "limited" RAM just a little and "increased" the perfomance.
Thanks for the review. It'd be nice if at some point you could get your hands on those metal fans by Alphacool which are supposedly nearly-silent at high RPMs. Is that stuff real?
I'm running a 65watt Ryzen 9 7900 with the in the box, Wraith Prism cooler. More often than not, 10 of the 12 cores are in sleep mode and cooling it stock isn't an issue. This cooler certainly wins in the elegance category but it would be massive overkill for me. I'm in Canada. If I were living in Buenos Aires or some place, this might be an option. Even for a 65watt chip but not here.
Best part about Noctua is that 3 socket changes into the future you will still be able to mount your trusty 10yr old D15 on because they keep updating mounting kits and send you one for free 😂 I wish my beloved Scythe Infinity (reading that name will make some of you feel old 😅) got similar treatment but no... Also a pure, 100% copper Noctua would be superb if Thermalright'results are anything to go by...
I loled at the 1 dB being noticeable. That's not possible by human. Either your measurement was bad or the pitch of the sound was different and so it seemed like "louder" to your ear.
@@TechTesters I stand corrected. I found sources claiming 1dB can be spotted and other claiming 3 dB is the treshhold (that was my understanding). But since you did it and i found other sources this means clearly you are right.
Would you consider doing a video on different CPU's performance in reference to just MSFS2000 since its so CPU dependent? I know people who are building systems just to run this amazing simulator.
i find it interesting that they decided to name this the Assasin 4 instead of a whole new series. It looks completely different than the other Deepcool Assasins.
you guys have to know that 45 db loud if get more 3db that makes noise double.. so 1 db means around %30 more louder.. if need explain think a jet engine working for 170 db , if we make double jet engines work noise level doesnt jump to 340db it goes only to 173 db every 3 db means dublicates the level..
Adding the same response as in the other video for others to see: It's not that simple. Often people confuse the power or the energy of sound with the actual perceived increase in noise to a human. If you compare a 35 to a 38 dB GPU you wouldn't call it twice as loud. In practice, you'd probably say that one "sounds" anywhere from 10 to 20% louder.
Is it not the "fans" of the Noctua that make the real difference from others? I would have to learn more about installation before I would choose, it's unclear what the process of that was
Thermalright Phantom Spirit and Peerless Assassin 120 available at half the price with equal/better performance. Deepcool are charging way too much. They think theyre noctua. At $100 you may as well go for a 360mm aio
Arctic Freezer 2 280mm better on both price and performance than almost every 360 kit out there. But yea, they charge for style here because performance has already peaked.
Cooler Master MA824 Stealth has knocked D15 off their spot using composite heat pipe design and their Mobius fans. This was covered at Computex with a colour paint showing. Get this reviewed so you have a 3-way comparison.
Whenever you watch any review, you usually get some questions in your mind., The funny thing is she always answers all of those, at that correct time the question comes to mind. For ex, now when I was seeing, I had a question, how about the switch turned to silent mode, what about the perf then. Just like that she is answering that question. This is why I watch so many reviews, But I always make buying decisions based on your review. No, not flattering you. I bought the KC3000 after watching your review.
I think motor noise is one of the most important things to show just a quick 10 second segment with a db gain, same thing with GPU coil whine I wish more would show motor noise when they're making such good videos already just missing that little extra.
I have a question. Does heavy virtualization wear out NVME or SSD drives at all? Aren't they meant for this? These drives do have limited write cycles believe. SATA drives are not used as much on later model laptops but can still be used in circumstances believe. Thank you. Tristan
is the clearance enough for the kingston fury RAMs if you were to reposition the fan to the other side? planning a build using the kingstons as well and was wondering if there was enough clearance for it without using the upper notches. I would prefer the cooler to be one big block. for aesthetic reasons mainly of course.
Very interested in the new noctua coming out later this year. Currently have ak620 and love it on my 5800x3d which is not a hot chip. Great video as always pretty lady 😘
I recently bought the Deepcool Assassin 4 for my I7 13700k cpu, but it is not compatible with my Asus Rog Strix z790 -H Gaming motherboard. What I can do? I bought it without knowing that it was not compatible, because I read that it was compatible with socket 1700, but I didn't look at the motherboard.
just about every water cooler will get mushy and just corrode everything in a years of use ,amd yes slime and gunk will live in the water or liquid used
Can you compare it to the assassin 3? I saw on Hardware Canucks channel that the assassin 3 performs better than the assassin 4. I want to see other reviewers also compare them to see if they get the same results.
You must have a quite cool room temp, 'cos right here 13700k with NH-D15 is almost breaking 100'C (This is before using contact frame and undervolting the CPU)
Water degrades significantly over a couple years, and if you're using an AIO you have no way to drain and refill it, so even if you get the ones that are *actually* better than air they don't stay that way.
Tip women first think when you don´t have much space because the grafic card, what if you "maybe" get it out and install it, hey and no damn bulky fat thing is in your way anymore. Is that so hard?
It isn't better than Noctua NH-D15, actually it isn't better than DC Assassin 3 either. GN conducted a vast testing and considering quietness, fans rpm and VRM temps it is behind D-15 and Assassin 3.
The Noctua NH-D15 was dethroned and kicked like a street dog four years ago by DeepCool Assassin III. So half the review in a clip was wrong about Noctua. It's good for the Austrian company to come up with something really good to reclaim the crown as it continues to be held by Deepcool. I know they have a new NH-D15 version two from Noctua, but it will officially debut in Q2 2024. At CES 23, it was only shown at their booth, but there was no technical information and no testing. At least from what I saw then.
