Presented by Dennis Carey, Curator, and Blake Wentley, Education Assistant, JC Raulston Arboretum on April 17, 2024.
Have you ever heard that plants can communicate with each other? What about that they can feel pain, have emotions and can read our minds?! The Internet is full of sensational and dubious claims about plants these days, so we thought it would be fun to go Deeper in the Garden, and have our Curator, Dennis Carey, go on one of his patented 'Research Rabbit Holes' to look through the studies and suss out the facts. Dennis will address some of the dramatic claims about plant consciousness you might stumble across online, and compare them to what the science says. Whether you're someone who needs a smidge of evidence before you'll believe what you're told, or if you're all on board to believe plants are magic, you won't want to miss this Midweek program!
