Autopilot will perform unsupervised sonar scans as well as produce depth maps of the scanned bottom. It works with the help of GPS and offline maps on Fish Deeper app. After you download offline maps, connect your device and allow the Quest to establish a GPS connection. Once complete, the autopilot indicator on the remote controller will turn green.
To access autopilot dashboard, click on the bait boat icon in the top right corner of the screen. Deeper Quest's autopilot can execute two types of mission: area and route scanning.
Click on "Area". You will see a map with your current location and a green rectangle box over it. To select a scanning area, you can move the map around, drag the corners of the green box or zoom in and out. As you change the size of the box, you will see the estimated scan time changing. Click "Start" button and let your Deeper Quest do the rest. To nofity about an active autopilot mission, the bottom left indicator on the remote controller will blink green. Once the mission is complete, you can scroll back through sonar data and mark interesting spots on the map.
Now let's try the Route autopilot mission. Tap the map and place as many waypoints as you wish for the bait boat to follow. You can track autopilot mission progress in the top right corner of the screen.
Autopilot can also help if you wish to send the Quest to a specific spot. To do so, first mark a desired spot on the map. Then click on the saved mark and select 'Go to point'. The bait boat will navigate to your spot and stop, waiting for your next command.
Moreover, autopilot can navigate your bait boat to a home spot, which the Quest will set automatically as it enters the water and receives a GPS signal.
Finally, autopilot will kick in to perform safety operations: to return to it's working range when signal is poor, or to return home on critically low battery.
