At 1:08 that slight smile that's more articulated with the fixed animation is such a beautiful moment. It makes me think that he's reminded of Master Yoda, and how amazed he is without even saying it

Definitely in the right direction. I'd say it's just a touch too exaggerated. Pull it back just a touch and it would be perfect.

Great work! The color from his face to the rest of the neck is off, but you added more texture and movement to the face. Even just the eyes coming much more to life than what Disney produced, you should be proud of your work 👍🏼

Dude! You nailed it, the minute I first saw it I noticed how the lips and the eyes were void of expression and that's the thing that felt so off about the animation, but you've managed to improve on it by miles. They should legit run a deepfake pass after their animation process, because it greatly improves the desired effect.

As I expected, the deep fake looks WAY better. This is the future for Mark Hamill in the Star Wars franchise. WTF didnt they go this route instead of 2002 looking CGI??

Great job! I was thinking about some other movies that would be good for deep fake based off actor's, who didn't get the role for some reason. Two good examples are: - Robin Williams being the original choice for Jack Torrance in The Shining, which he turned it down. - Jack Nicholson playing Ralphie's father in A Christmas Story, which he turned down because they couldn't meet his price.

That mouth animation really brought it a lot closer to selling the illusion. Kudos for putting in that extra effort. I think Shamook's deepfake (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wrHXA2cSpNU.html) might be a bit sharper/more convincing, but suffers from the stiff mouth/face problem that you really addressed head-on. Would love to see you two combine your efforts! Edit: I just saw that Shamook got a shout out in the description, so I guess you two are already in touch!

It looks good overall. but damn, amazing work adding the talking on the "come little one" at 0:25 - 0:29! It's absolutely perfect, it looks so real! Is the little twitching in his face when he blinks intentional or something the program added itself? Either way, those little details sell the scene much more!

Great work! You definitely improved on the specularity in the eyes and skin. Much MUCH better. The mouth is better but still off and could use some more tweaking. The only other thing is that I wish the shadow on his neck beneath his chin and jawline could be fixed. It's too black and also perfectly outlines the face which makes the face feel separate from the body. It's a problem with the original footage though so idk if the deepfake algorithms even calculate necks only only recognize facial structures. All and all very nice work though. Lucasfilm should reach out to you lol

This is the best Deep fake correction I've seen.

I think this is the best version so far. The rest of the deep fakes are good (better than the original at least) but yours the one that if I were to see it on the show, I'd be super happy. I don't understand why big production companies are not utilizing the deep fake tech. Like, what's stopping them exactly? imagine having the budget to find body doubles with almost exact body type as young Luke and same facial structure for the head (possibly different actor as well), with the icing on the cake being them already having Mark Hamill alive and on board. It's a perfect set up but missed.

Not sure if this can be compared to with Corridor Crew's version. They didn't just do a face replacement but restaged the whole thing. I think they could have matched your quality if they spent that time just on face replacment.

A touch of dialling it in to match the grain and colour and this would be near perfect.

The biggest problem with the original was the 5 o'clock shadow beard he had going on, not sure if the creators meant to do this as older jedis usually grow a beard, but felt a bit off to me.

The stills from the original work just fine, but you can tell they tried to limit his facial movement as much as possible because the movement is where it looks weird. Your deepfake doesn't have a lot to go off for eye expression, but the jaw movement alone feels more natural instead of Luke talking through his teeth. 0:45 is the weirdest for both takes. I think there's some fine movement where Luke's upper lip just kinda moves by itself.

Nicely done. I begin to think, the reason they don't do deep fakes, is because of licensing expense. To get all those faces, they would have to go through many pictures and videos that they might not have the license for. So they would in the end, pay more than if they used their own technology. Then again, that's just me musing. I don't really know.

Why can't Disney hire people like you to do vfx? The Mandalorian had huge innovations with using ILM Stagecraft. Why can't they utilize a tried and true technology like deepfake? Granted, there is some probable legal grey-area with using the likeness of a person from a different film, but the film is owned by Disney, and the actor was already involved as a voice actor. Disney is trying to do things the hardest way possible.
