Thank you for bringing out the awareness. Now i know why i colapsed 4 yrs back in the elevator. I am not sure how i am alive till date being so burnt out. However just 2 days back i have started to say no & informed my manager that i am burnt out, after the EY employee sad demise news.

Very good topic Deepika! The need of the hour. We are humans, not machines. If anyone has problem or wants to overwork you do you, don't impose your stupid working process on others and also stop being jealous. Many people have something and many people don't. It's not that you'll start yelling or abusing someone just because you are the deprived.

Yes. Let’s normalise rest and having time for ourselves. Let’s priorities time with family, time for self, physical health and mental health.

Why are people believing it's the best way to be more productive ? Greed, capitalism of the power structures around us . Look at Murthy and Karnataka govt trying to pass ridiculous hours work. It's not enough these people have become rich enough to secure generations of their family over the backs of unpaid and underpaid overtime that people have put. Then there are people who die because of this life style... One of my colleage lost someone from her team recently and didn't even get to know that he passed away till weeks later. It's not enough that that poor man was literally worked to death but his team ...the humans he worked with were informed weeks later as though their grief is insignificant and inconsequential. They felt the urge to be there for his spouse but didn't know how to reach her. How alone should that family have felt that there wasn't even a message sent to them from the team he worked with for years. YEARS! How is this not the body count of capitalism?!
