the character development in this show was amazing

“Do you hear that?” AFK pointed towards the bottom of the cliff. A structure could be seen in the ground. One white orb with two openings at it’s left and right, as well as two more at it’s bottom left and bottom right. Mario and Dex were anxious, but eager to learn what it was. “That is what I… We have come here for.” “B-but, what is it, AFK?” Mario, confused, questioned AFK about the structure. “…it’s how I unlock the Linkstrider oath.” AFK replied, with hesitance. “Four sacrifices must be made, and those sacrifices must be other people with oaths. Once they have been made, I will gain ultimate power. I have already completed two.” Nothing but the wind was heard for a few seconds, and the ominous noise of the white ball infront of the trio, with AFK leading. “I am so proud of you two, you know.” AFK turned around, looking at the duo. “You have gone strong, surpassed your limits. You’ve gone to places you’ve never thought of going to before. Seen and beaten horrors that some would run from.” “I know we’re cool and all, but can you explain why you’re acting so ominous?” After AFK finished speaking, Dex spoke up. “We just need to kill two other people, right? Not that big of a deal, should be eas-“ AFK began silently laughing. He knew what had to be done, and why he brought them here. “…and now you’re laughing?” Dex pushed further. “Jeez, I get you wanna be cryptic and all, but now’s not the ti-“ “All Sleep.” With those two words, Mario and Dex realised what was happening. They collapsed instantly, without being able to do anything. They screamed and cried, with no way of escape. AFK grabbed both of them by their legs and dragged them to the unfull containers. “WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS?! WE TRUSTED YOU!” Dex screamed in retaliation, only for AFK to silently whisper “I’m sorry.”, throwing them into the containers. Despite their cries, they knew they were doomed. Dex’s chamber roared, and he was slaughtered. “…why…? W-we made so many m-memories…” Mario cried his last words. “…i’m sorry, Mario.” In response, AFK let out a final sorry, turning away before his chamber could consume him. Multiple tears ran down their faces like a waterfall of pain and agony. “This is the way it has to be.” Oath: Linkstrider

This movie is amazing, the character development is crazy. It’s a story of betrayal and trust with wholesome and sad moments. As the main character controlled and manipulated his “Friends” he comes to understand that not all allies must be used in his advantage. As he also gets betrayed he comes to realize that the world is full of selfish people who use others for their own gain. 10/10 plot and story line best movie of the year by far

So the plots about this guy named afk who can make a pact with other people and control them. along his journey he meets a boy who is wearing nothing but tattered rags. this boys name is mario, and him and the protagonist decide to work together to achieve their seperate goals. mario wants to be connected with the stars, while afk seeks power in order to become the foundation of his allies strength. afk decides to ask mario to make a vow with him, but someone interupts, saying mario shouldnt. mario ends up declining this vow. the two venture around a island, finding ways to help mario with their quest. they end up killing someone in order for mario to start his quest of becoming a "starkindred." along the way, they meet this guy named dex veshi, who afk makes a vow with. shortly after, dex wanders off, leaving our two boys together. after a while mario and afk plan to set sail in search of a new land to explore. on the boat ride, mario admits his trust, and ends up making the vow with afk. they end up on a desert island, and end up spending a while looking around. they utilize their vow to do a multitude of things. help fight, help navigate, etc. along their journey through this desert island, they reunite with Dex. they end up working together to further explore lands, conquer enemies, and strengthen their bond. they eventually go back to the previous island and unlock marios connection with the stars. at such a happy time, somethings off. afk is quiet. cold. he walks to dex and mario, stopping their sparring match. "it is time for our final quest together." he says. mario and dex were confused, but folllowed afk onto the boat. they set sail to a far off island. It was a grey, dull and cold place. afk walked solemnly. mario and dex followed him to a weird stone circle. it had four slots for something, and two were already glowing. "Sleep." afk said. mario and dex fell. afk grabbed dex first, putting him into one of the slots. he died. he grabbed mario next, who was pleading for his life. "im sorry" afk said. "Thank you for trusting me." he put mario into the slot, and mario died after dex. afk stood there, thinking about his choices. a ball of energy formed in the circle, and exploded. afk recovered from the blast, with his new title: "LinkStrider."

Im so sad for Mario I litterally cried just because he died.... hope he's good even after this betrayal...

god I love these unabridged series they feel like actual progression instead of just going to hive / depths and farming there until u need to get bell and that's it, your progressions have amazing editing, some funny jokes and nice characters, I love it.

The symbolization of him not being able to reset like normal and being forced to leave was beautiful It showed he was not the same man he was before as it was shown numerous times that he was able to reset but after killing his students he subconsciously deep down had changed and couldn’t live with himself and it also showed how he was a different man. Maybe, Maybe even a monster.

Faust could never walk away from the pain and guilt sacrificing his children gave him, he forever was trapped in his own mind from then forward. He vowed that he would help anyone and everyone he could.. But even to this day, his arms tremble when he sees his old photos

Whenever he makes a vow with someone or meets them a static effect or the linkstrider sacrifice sound plays, that's only when its a victim he befriends and they die/get betrayed by him. Something you can only see on your secondwatch. What a cool detail!!!

i went into this video thinking of it as some normal progression video, what i discovered was a well thought out story with beautiful characters, it says alot about deepwoken and what must be done to progress, KILL, but most importantly it covers the issues of being a freshie and it shows you how one must be a lone wolf to survive in this game, if you can even call it that, it more reminds me of a beautiful movie you could only see once in a lifetime with the beautiful editing and well thought out plot points, overall i give it a 10/10 would watch again

I felt a chill up my spine when i heard the risk of rain track. Im new to this game and just learned about the linkstrider ritual yesterday, and i felt something was deeply wrong when con lenditud poderosa started playing. I had completely forgotten about it until i saw the white orb, i didnt know what the ritual was or what it looked like. All i knew is it needed two sacrifices, but when i saw the white orb it all made sense.
