Since my last video was posted, we had baby #3 and moved to our new house. The Kubota kx121-3 mini excavator featured in another video was sold, and shortly thereafter I found life without a hoe of some sort to be more difficult. So I ran across this nearly abandoned, early to mid 1970s backhoe on craigslist. It still needs many things, but after a year or so of weekend progress it's finally a useful tool. Nearly every other video out there on these old Deere 410 backhoes is an auction site, or similar entity just running the machine through range of motion demonstrations, so I decided it was time to post one actually doing something! This oak tree was struck by lightning several years ago, and was starting to drop sizable limbs. The tree is 29" diameter where it was cut.
