This is peak Def Leppard. Young, hungry, and not to be denied. Played every show like it could be their last. Def Leppard's effort & determination has always been the reason for their success. It's no coincidence that they hit big. They've always gone at it like there was no other choice.
To all you rappers and hip-hoppers: THIS --- is MUSIC. True Rock. Real instruments. Real Drums - not "Beatz" from computer samples. Real Vocals -- NO auto tune and-or weird shitty effect in the vocal. No huge bullshit backline of distracting dancers. And NO BACKTRACKS to "ASSIST" the vocalist. REAL MUSIC BY REAL MUSICIANS.
Wow! This is gold! Three things that caught my eye here : 1. Steve Clark is there playing with the band. 2. Rick pre-car accident, with 2 arms. But most alarming was; 3. Phil with a top on. 😆 This is an amazing gem!!
I got to see Phil with a shirt on at the Exit 111 music festival in Manchester TN back in Oct of 2019 and that's only because it was "officially their coldest gig ever" as Joe put it!!! It got down to 37° that night and we were camping in a tent!!! Great times!!! \m/ \m/
Once Phil touched his top unknowingly after his solo and it caught fire. That's why he doesn't put them on while he is playing guitar anymore. For real!
I no for a fact he was did you see Clack at the beginning of Rock Of Ages he popped Hard on his Legendary Gibson R.I.P...Steve Clark...I saw that tour in Austin TX...
Oh gosh..... I hope this doesn't come off wrong , but I have to say as well, that my man Rick the Thunder god Allen 's other arm is truly missed very well also
A lot of music fans write off Def Leppard as some run of the mill hair metal band, but the reality is that they are one of the hardest working rock bands who built all their own success. They were an absolute spectacle. One of a kind
Take a minute to admire Joe’s perfect better than on the recordings voice, Collen’s licks, Allen’s two arms, savages bass lines and on stage performance and Clark’s riffs and solos and whatever the f*ck he does to get that sound. All of these elements in a great early energetic band and a f*kin’ great image and audio quality !
Steve Clark was one of the most original guitarists in rock music. The chord structure in the songs is uniquely his - not to mention his leads and showmanship! He truly was incredible.
A lot of the chord arrangements are due to the genius of John Lange... just listen to Foreigner 4, and AC/DC HTHell and BIBlack... Touch to Much for example. But of course Steve Steamin' Clark was a great musician!
Ladies and Gents I give you Def Leppard at their finest Moment. Joe's voice is on point. Steaming Steve Phil Collen Rick Allen and Sav are KILLIN it. Rick Allen playing a real drum kit is just a Beautiful sight to see...
Sadly, Steve left us too early....I get angry because in interviews his achievements are never mentioned. In the short time he was a Lep, he wrote 95% of the songs himself. To this day, his royalties continue to surpass the other members. Basically, Steve is the richest Lep, but he's the one who didn't even care about the money!
Ahh yes , the fallout of Mutt Lange production . While I take nothing away from the energy and tight performance part of it , it's obvious these guys knew right away they would have to use padded backups , keyboard supplementation , and triggered samples for live replication of the recording. Just sayin' .

If I had a time machine I would love to go back to 1983 and see Def Leppard play live. I did see them in Philly at the Spectrum in 1988 which was my 1st concert when I was 15 but i would have loved to see them with their earlier stuff even High N Dry. I was only 10 when they were touring for Pyromania and there was no way my parents were taking me. My parents hated rock n roll. God my dad hated all my music. I have so many old pics from 1984 to 1987 when I am wearing my Union jack sleeveless shirt.
My very first concert ever was Def Leppard in 83 , had recently got out of Army boot camp. Don't think I could have asked for a better first concert. Saw them 14 more times over the years. Always put on a great show and sounded just like what you heard on the Radio. Some Bands suck live, Def Leppard was awesome.
Amazing what happens when you actually had to sing for your money , once they got the money I am sure they got more slack , lol also age has a major factor !
Can you remember the 1st Def Leppard song you ever heard? It was Rock of Ages for me in 1983. There was a commercial on TV for one of those compilation albums and the chorus for Rock of Ages played when they said Def Leppard. I don't ever remember hearing Bringing on the Heartbreak but I was only 8 when it came out.
This is some of the most high quality of video concert footage I have ever seen in my 51 years! Damn! Incredible! The shots of the audience are amazing, it’s like your standing right there
I was 15 years old, German boy, it was the first time my parents let me look something so late on TV! While looking, I recorded everything on tape (it came on radio too) with my "Ghetto Blaster" they gave me for my birthday before! Amazing, and still got the tapes with MSG and Ozzy and Quiet Riot and Leppard! This gives me chills! Thank you so much!!!!
There will never be another band like Def Leppard. For me personally, they are perfection. They made four incredible albums: High n' Dry, Pyromania, Hysteria, and Adrenalize.
This is the Def Leppard I fell in love with ... God how I miss you Steve Clark ... The Band hasn't been the same since you left us ... But thank God we were all blessed with your amazing gifts if only for a little while ... God bless you and God bless Def Leppard.
Footage is in great shape for being over 30 years old. Lovely seeing Steve!!!! And the Thunder God before that awful accident took his arm. But that said, Im so glad he is still with us and you guys still rock!!!
I have had a privilege of being able to DL live 2 times .... Rick Allen I love you. Tenacious, don't ever stop !! Your band mates , HAVE to luv U man !!!
Speechless. Can’t imagine anyone left that venue with their faces not completely melted off. 10 out of 10 from every single band member and a stellar camera, audio and editing job. This footage is priceless.
This is a true 80s def leppard vid...my first memories as a kid of them in America was the way they looked and played here....I agree , this video is just perfection
Hi, you have such a profound impact on my life with your love support and comments texting my fans on here is to express our gratitude to you we love you, much love❤️
They were great even in the early days, they put on a great show. I love Steve Clark , so talented, so intelligent what a waste of this great musician. He could have done wonders.I wish someone could have given him the help he needed with his drinking. He seemed so sad at times. I think he was a lonely soul that needed someone to support him and help him with encouragement. Very sad .
Man Steve Clark was an absolutely amazing player, especially in their early days before he started to hit the bottle hard. Great performance, Phil even does an excellent job and wore a shirt. Joe sounds awesome too!
I thought I saw smoke coming from Phil's shirt, that thing would probably have been ash if he kept lighting up the fretboard like he did on rock of ages lol.
Just incredible! They were such a great band back then. Steve Clark was such a bad a$$ ! Under rated as a player and performer.Young bands take note that's how you work a crowd.
Stop saying the word underrated you fucn hipster bitch...These guys were NEVER underrated...you're just a sheeple followed...Use your own brain the next time you try to sound cool or relevant...dickhead
Magnificent choir of exceptional musicians, because all singers, capable of superb harmonies, exceptional melodists and composers, surrounded by a drummer of remarkable precision. I grew up with Def Leppard, and will never tire of listening to them. When we see the ego quarrels in certain groups, the solidarity between these musicians and their drummer, following his misadventure, commands respect. Long live Def Leppard!
Wow! Awesome song! I wish I knew these guys in 1983. I was only 14. I started listening to them in 84' - 85'. I was blown away when Def Leppard came out with 'Hysteria' my favorite song and album!!! I'm 53 and still loving their music. Rock on Def Leppard!! I just love them!❣️😘
Let It Go never sounded better than ever…No computer intervention. Still my favorite DL sound..! No software adjusting guitar sounds….just clean perfect raw rock music…..You can hear how much better it sounds than today live show…awesome
Watching this footage…tears to see Rick playing with both arms…but what a comeback he made, and turned a life changing event into something truly miraculous. This is incredible…but with these guys, nothing is impossible. Miss you Steve Maynard Clark❤️
Tack för dinna underbara häftiga låtar Steve Clark och utan dig är dom ingen ting...din musik kommer aldrig någonsin att glömmas bort älskar 💕 dig föraltid...vila I evig frid
Saw this tour for my first concert, Mom got my brother and I tickets while we were in school. It was an incredible experience. They were pretty much exactly as this. Saw lots of other shows, played in bands, only band that came close was Pantera right after vulgar display came out. Pretty lucky. This is a much better view than I had then, from the balcony lol.
now i wouldnt want to see them unlike acdc or the crue who still jam def lep is like easy listening. sucks and no one give me their old shit. the crue guys are around th same and ACDC over ten yeas older
After listening this classic music from Def Leppard concert. Scream and shout. (MB) Tonight we are going to make lots of noise in this place. The terror twins guitars are hot, heavy and loose tonight. "Wasted" lots of energy, volume, lungs on this song. haahah,
You can tell just by listening to his fills how many arms he had at the time. If he was doing a lot of fast rolls across the set, he had two. If he was doing syncopated snare hits, he had one.
@@FireMinstrel Yeah but he's still a f*cking beast right? How many drummers would have just given up after having such a horrific accident but not Rick... I have so much respect for the man.
I love this It’s awesome I love Joe’s Union Jack top and the black leather pants He looks awesome as always I am so glad this is up on RU-vid I get to watch it whenever I want to
Def Leppard firing on all cylinders without a doubt, Pyromania another classic Leppard album and a brilliant track from on through the night -Let it rock🤟🤟🤟
Absolutely love it!! What I wouldn't give to be there and witness it first hand... Unfortunately I wasn't born til 1991 though. I'm so lucky that they're still touring, and I've been able to see them 3 times. ♡ Until next time - and there will be a next time!!!
I still loved the Hysteria Album as my favorite with Steve Clark....This is great but I just heard it too much on the radio ....It's still amazing though...RIP Steve Clark!!! You are really missed!!!!😢❤
Wow, what a great recording!!!! DL was at the top of their Rock game here!!!! This is the DL I love!!! I'm not knocking the rest, but DL to me is High and Dry, On through the Night, and Pyromania!!!!!! Long live R&R!!!!!!!!!!!
Man what a treat to stumble onto this priceless video. Love this band so much. It’s funny how a bands music can affect your life and get you through really horrible things and they have no way of knowing. So grateful for all their efforts throughout all the years. ❤️
Hi, you have such a profound impact on my life with your love support and comments texting my fans on here is to express our gratitude to you we love you, much love❤️
probably THE best ever footage of DL at their peak........ really energetic... and their best album being showcased... Pyromania..... true British Steel!!!
