I am revisiting Hysteria after a 35 or so year hiatus. It's wormed it's way into my head again, just like it did in 1987. But now, I can hear and appreciate so many more little parts in the recordings. Gods Of War is an absolute genius masterpiece of musical magic. Mutt Lange is a god.
For years - literal years I was up and down drumming this badass beat on old beer covered amps, car dashboard, upturned buckets with a couple of study pony carrots and wondering where it came from and how / where they picked that out and included it on the Hysteria album. This episode not only explained that but took me to Burundi Black which took me to all sorts of other good places too. I'm a mother with grown ass adult children and play piano and harp but still bounce around when mucking out horses drumming on buckets and wheelbarrows and this beat sounds ace if you get in the perfect spot with the best acoustics. *Muck heap commencing - fire one (SHITE! SHI-SHI-SHITE!!)* 😂
What most people don’t realize is you have Rick Allen learning to play drums again and you want him to keep up on this kind of rhythm? And he did. Rick Allen is a beast!
@@bls8959 I’m not saying he’s playing the Burundi beat like it is on the album live but several times I’ve seen them live and between cymbals and Tom’s he gets dang close without that track.
There was a portion of this video at one time I recall of Phil and Joe at the mixing board listening to tracks Steve recorded and Phil couldnt recall if it was him or Steve. Can anyone help me find that clip??
First part of behind the scenes part. I think of all greatest albums series, only def leppard did the longest part, where they explained these nitty-gritties
Oh give me! I've actually always wondered about that "Gods of War" part of the song. I understood it was something played backwards, but I always wanted to know what it is.
@@eq1373 The drum beat is from a Burundi Black voodoo shaman chant inserted into a Pop song. Mutt Langer is Sth African I'm sure he knows all about voodoo shaman chants and drum beats. They are all Freemasons illuminati. #goodfightministries
