Getting my inQ fix in 2022. I hope he’s still out there prospering in life! I remember first seeing this guy in some underground battleraps dvd i picked up at bestbuy one night.
Rakim: "I got a question, it's serious as cancer. Who can keep the average dancer hyper than a heart attack?" Rakim was no joke because he felt like no one could come near him lyrically. He thought he was rich, hence "Paid In Full". Back then it was cool to dance, you had to dance or you were corny. Now it's the opposite. that's the point.
Damn, i dropped some tears...but common guyz, hip hop neva gon die, soul s not dead, beethovens not dead, music doesnt die as long as we still listen to it and enjoy it.
I love this poem and I love his voice!!! it's sooooo... i can't find the word but i love it.and it is true what he is saying. music isn't as good as it used to be.
yea i know but its only so much they can speak on. i wanna hear new talent spit the real jcole, kendrick, joey badass, and logic are the only people i see doing that
Amazing how he only talks about the rap side of Hip Hop but doesn’t mention any Graff artists or Breakers with only like 2 mentions to DJs People need to realize that Hip Hop is a culture and that it’s not just rap Also Hip Hop never died, people just stopped following the movement because it wasn’t commercialized all the time✌🏾
Hip Hop never left, never died, never "evolved"... Hip Hop is still in the same essance it was when it was born...The issue right now is there are quite a few individuals who are standing and blocking the view of the true essance of hip hop...They scream hip hop but they are not emcees...My question is why do people call them "Hip Hop"? These individuals sing "Pop" music and nothing more...The underground is vastly larger than the mainstream...Just move the popstars out the way so you can see
Damn right, we all feel this! Every word out of his mouth is true. Hip Hop was fun back in the day. But now, it's pure bullshit if you ask me. How I miss the old days.
@Megidramon its not dead just going threw stages cause its all business now, soon they will move to techno and Hip hop will come back. Me honestly i wish all artist in all genres didn't sign to record labels music would have much diversity and culture.
Sounds like he wanted to hear MTV hip hop, there's a reason why guys like Rakim were no joke, because they were poor, there's nothing fun about having to sling crack in the hood to survive.
well if you want to listen to hip hop artist that you can relate to try listening to some atmosphere, mackelmore ,soulstice, felt, cam meekins, or common but idk if you'll like them b/c idk you
theres a good page on facebook called The Poet believe you can find it with this email dapoetnme@gmail.com theres some good poetry I read on there just saying
Hip-Hop is dead, Rap is its dead remains yet idiots and fools lose themselves in stupidity, forgetting what it meant to have true passion instead of living out the fantasies of a 12 year old boy.
You do know mainstream rap is corporate backed and packaged, right? So whatever you hear on the radio and television is what the masses are buying. But a lot of blacks agree with him in that hip-hop is a shell of it's former self now. At least the mainstream garbage with a few sprinkles of decent lyrics here and there.
