Jervie you are sooo right....that was the first time I ever heard her...was after 9-11 that poem of hers MOOOOVES you......Now you can see her in her first film called SALT OF THIS SEA.....now available on kino - lorber....it took 2 YEARS to get distribution...but then its about Palestine....no surprise getting it distributed anywhere in the US. Despite its numerous prizes from Europe (Cannes) and elsewhere...shown in 2008 in Houston, Boston and Chicago film fests.. great film.!

Sam Cooke is my favorite singer. Why? Because he was my mother's favorite singer and he sang "sweet, sweet music." I love this poem! Thanks Suheir.
