Threats don't clock out, and neither should your self-defence skills. Whether you're in the line of duty or off the grid, staying one step ahead is non-negotiable. This series emphasises critical skills and techniques required to neutralise threats and maintain control.
In this episode we demonstrate essential self defence techniques to counteract grabbing and pushing attacks. From establishing a rock-solid stance that sets you up for success to executing a precise takedown, we cover the A to Z of destabilizing and neutralizing threats. You'll learn how to protect your head, take control of an assailant's arm, and exploit vulnerabilities with targeted strikes. Plus, we dissect the tactics to defend against pulls, using control, rotation, and post-takedown strategies to ensure safety and control.

The old stand up straight in a square with arms by your side fighting stance. Works every time 5% of the time.

The slow motion and captions are really helpful as the viewer can see what is happening and get their head around what needs to be done. If your arms are shorter than your attacker's, the first example in the video might not work. That said, it is simple enough to do instinctively and could be useful (depending on circumstances). I watch this video repeatedly in the hope the moves stick for when I need them. Thank you for this upload.

Let's give the guy a round of applause for taking a dive. Those were some impressive falls. The guy barely touched him and he immediately went to the ground. Seriously doubt that would ever happen in a real fight but this is some nice acting.

Yes to all the negative comments but these are just tools in your toolbox. Nothing fits every situation so add it to your possibles and do some mental reps. The main gist is the mechanical advantage of the moves. We all know katas don’t work IRL. Thanks for the vid UF Pro.

Tools would indicate that these "moves" actually work in the real world, which they dont. You can train these all you want, when push comes to shove youll throw haymakers and do some ugly noobie wrestling if you didnt put in the time sparring against people who dont go limp the second you touch them. There is no shortcut for years of practicing on the matt and in the ring. This is nothing but embaressing. The real world isnt a movie.

You need to practice and train these moves just like any other moves or strike in order to create the muscle memory to effectively use these or moves or other moves, training and practice is the key to success. Practice with your family, yes especially your kids and wife, you don't need a gym or to be a trained fighter to practice and train, and what better way to learn than learning with your family so that they are also equipped for the real world.

After 45 years of martial arts training (in several different art forms), I would say these techniques expend way too much energy. The first defense (striking down on the elbow joint) simply won't work. As for the second defense, it was good to see the attacker pull the victim in (most self defense training situations have the attacker grab the victim at arms length); this part was realistic. However, in both of these situations, it would be much faster and more effective to simply use the attackers momentum by kneeing him in the groin as he attacks. He will drop like a sack of potatoes! Trying these fancy grapling moves are a waste of time especially if there are multiple attackers (the biggest weakness in BJJ).

These are well choreographed, but unrealistic. Your opponent isn't going to just let you do all this to them without resisting, and these aren't exactly difficult to resist. Like at 0:45, you'd just get punched in the face.
@bitkarek
@bitkarek 11 месяцев назад
actually thats why he punched him into the face first... to make him lose some control/time/awareness. Musado MCS works similar/same way. If you get punched in the nose, you can blackout for a second or two.

Just as with any defense, it only works if you have it in 'muscle memory '. Meaning you must practice to get it right in form and repeat, repeat, repeat until it is no longer a thought. Your body simply reacts automatically.

This is movie martial arts. If you're aware of your surroundings don't let someone grab you first off. Second you would want to spin/turn away from them. Not into them where they could grab/stab you with their other hand. In this situation if they grab with their right arm you want to spin/turn clockwise grabbing their grab hand with your right hand, bring your left under and do a quick armbar/elbow break, push them away and run away. This is a joke.

@snakeace0
@snakeace0 11 месяцев назад
Anyone who has ever grappled either in training or in real self defense situations knows that this whole video is complete and utter useless drivel. The fact that these "instructors" are still out there in the millitary world teaching this bullcrap just goes to show that most Special forces never have to grapple and exclusively use their weapons to resolve conflicts with threats. Otherwise this bullshit would have been filtered out already. You have 2 options if you want to be capable in a self defense situation: Learn good striking techniques, preferrably from Boxing, Kickboxing or Muay Thai. Or Learn Good Grappling from Wrestling, Judo or BJJ. Preferrably you learned a bit of both. There are no secret techniques, no step by step instructions. Just pure reflexes , instincts and athleticism. Either you put in the Work for years or you wont be effective against an opponent that doesnt want to be restrained. Period.
