I play defense for my school team and we are very good. The defense keeps multiple clean sheets and that is the best part of our team but no one says anything about it we get no recognition, I don’t care as long as we win but the attackers is where all the recognition is.
As a left winger who used to play as a right back this shows how fun and how much of a strong job you have to do as a defender.when I played defence.I stopped a lot of counter attacks that could’ve put my team in a bad position on the leaderboard, I used to play in division 8 but I’m now in division 2 now,so a massive improvement.

Like so many others I see commenting on this video I am also an amateur defender, here in my country Argentina...and it was really a pleasure to see this video. Since I was little I felt much more identified with the great defenders of football instead of the star strikers. Undoubtedly, defending well, stealing a ball, saving a goal, etc is an art and it is what ends up winning the games.
we humans need nothing but Peace&joy No. Not in a game. A striker has to be succesful 1 time to get 1 goal. But a defenders job is to not concede any goal at all and therefore have to suceed every time.

As a defender in an amateur league in the Netherlands, I sincerely thank you for this compilation. During the pandemic I've been cruising through a lot of football compilations, and of course the prevalent stuff are the dribbles, the skills and the goals. And I love those things, they're eye catching, sometimes bafflingly beautiful, but the sheer amount of running, bashing and sliding on dry pitches (and yes also on artificial turf) that defenders do is often under appreciated. Therefore, massive thank you for these clips: these guys show how it's done and that motivated me a lot!
Me too I play in an amateur league with the top third team in the league and plus I was there only reason they topped the group in the global cup (the champions league in the area) and this also motivated me too
As a defender, I feel like our role is the most important role in soccer/football and yet we don’t get talked about. Attackers are also important because we need to score obviously, but without defenders we will not win/get scored on so that’s why I feel that defenders are very important. (My opinion)
can we take a moment to appreciate Bellerin for a second, like i know his chase down on Bafetimbi was mainly succesful due to the fact that dude just didnt shoot, and Pedro didnt pass the ball, but bro he was full sprint from the other half outrunning two people, recovering the ball, and no foul, that isnt easy. Im a teenager that never played or watched football but started because of WC 2022 definitely heard the most popular players so I was expecting them but while watching the game itself, the most impressed was defence, they are the ones who do most of the work so my heart was given to them

I think its somewhat true .. but football is a team sport.. if one player is off.. ruins the whole team.. but generally speaking yes defense will win you championships unless you're athletico madrid .. great defense but lack that attacking edge to win titles ..
