I know this is an older video but it’s the first video that has actually discussed dogs in a 90. I have 2 labs which are probably same fit as your boy in hole. How does he find lying down etc in long journeys etc

We have a 2023 90 xdynamic p400. We really enjoy it. The back seat is a great place to be with all that light! Haven’t had one problem at 9500 miles. I threw KO2’s on it. The kids love it. You can have a family and own this just fine.

Super, the P400 would be awesome. Great sharing stories. Looking forward to hopefully meeting more like minded Defender families and individuals.

Great video, really happy I found this. Just about to order the same model and was a little concerned about the boot space for my dog. But feel a lot happier now I've seen your dog and how well he fits in.

Thanks Stephen. We're really enjoying the 90 and your note is a nice reminder to get some more content up. I didn't realise we had hit 10 views. Amazing. I'm also looking at an option now of dropping the rear right hand side seat so Purcell can walk up a little ramp and into a crate of some sort. More on that in next video. Always happy to share stories - note if you want to order a rear wheel cover I've been waiting over 5 months for one ! Not easy...

Happy motoring, I’m sure you’ll love it. Had mine nearly 3 years and 40000 miles, use it everyday as a Van basically in the building trade, then at wk ends it’s a nice refined comfortable car. Just done a 2000 mile trip taking in 4 countries around Europe, including heavy snow in alps no problem. most relaxing comfortable drive I’ve ever done! Oh, and I’ve never had a problem with it!

Thanks JC. Even better when the Defender supports your work and play. We must add a trip like that to the bucket list. HNY and wishing you much success in 2024.

@@Defender90Reviews And to you and yours. As for a trip, Go for it, highly recommend the Xmas markets in Strasbourg and Colmar, most hotels very dog friendly. I reckon Martha could drive! A Natural the way she sits in drivers seat!

At last 🎉a review of the 24MY 90. Would be helpful if you also showed fold flat on row 2. Assume you haven’t got your boot box yet? I took delivery of a 24MY 90 X and have to say I’m in love with it….. great fun.

Was your boot box supplied with the car? Or will it be supplied do you know? I took delivery of my 24MY 90 Hse just before Christmas, it had no boot box with it. I pointed out I thought it should. I found it in the breakdown for my vehicle specification - Flat load space tray I think it was called. I have pointed this out to the supplying dealer and they say they have contacted JLR, I am awaiting their response. It would be good to know if yours was supplied with the car or later.

Hi guys. We didn't get a boot box with ours. To be honest I was unaware of this as an option or new standard fitting. I think it does raise the boot base level however so I think I am prefer not having one. Will check out do a short video about this if I can swing by Charles Hurst and compare our Defender to one with it.

Lovely car but really not sure about what you suggest about dog in the back! We shall be going for the 110 as personally think its a bit unfair on the dog with such a small space.

Hi there and love the Triumph tag( my fav bikes). Go for the 110 Defender if it suits your needs, it is an amazing machine. I really loved the space and the back doors but not for us. Trust me, the 90 is perfect for our pup, he stands tall and is more secure than the wider space a bigger boot offers, he can also turn around. I personally drive a 530 Touring so he spends more time there than the 90, but given a dog is only in the space for a short period it suits perfectly (note the anti spill waterbowl from Landrover is very useful). 90 or 110, as the dog ages the folding ramp might be a useful purchase but not required for a lively furball friend. PLease do share a video when you get the new 110.

Great video. One technical point: you shouldn't film a black car against a white background (house) it messes up the white balance of the camera.

Appreciate the feedback, we also need to invest in some good recording equipment :-)

Just seen your video. I bought the 90 last December and fitted a full bumper protector to the rear bumper to protect it from dog claw scratches. I did buy an OEM JLR bumper protector (black) which I didn’t use. Still in its box if you’re interested in buying it? Let me know.

Thanks for watching Mark. We are working on our "recording kit" so we learn how to add clips together before we share further content. All good fun. Thanks for the note. I am looking these up to see what way we go and will shout if this OEM protector fits the bill, sounds good.

Good to hear back from you. I was impressed that your old English sheep dog enjoys being in the boot. We have 2 small jack russells and for the first few days we decided to use the front doors to harness them into the rear seats. Rain and slow speed of seat movement quickly out an end to that. We still wanted to harness them into the back seats but changed entry point to getting them to walk through the middle section of the rear seat from the boot. We’ve continued with this method for a year now and it works fine. Doesn’t help us carry human passengers in the rear though !! The defender 90 V8 unfortunately has both front seats with electric movement so we don’t have luxury of the quick release to slide the front passenger seat forward.

Hi could I ask if this has the air suspension? I’m considering one without but I’m a little nervous? Thanks
@Defender90Reviews
@Defender90Reviews 7 месяцев назад
Hi Paul, great shout. Ours has the coil suspension, not air. Now this is because that was the spec in this Defender and we’d decided that would work perfectly well for us. Other than maybe lowering the Defender to help maybe an elderly person (Granda is our case) in, we had no need for “air”. The side steps are a must and I would say there is less body roll in this Defender than my previous HSE Discovery 5. This makes me prioritise getting a video done of full spec and benefits of each feature. I would therefore say the coil suspension is perfect.

The wipers look like they’re not in the correct park position ??
@Defender90Reviews
@Defender90Reviews 6 месяцев назад
Good spot. thats a winter setting you can enable if you want to move the wipers off the windscreen in those cold frosty nights. That said, we also have a remote setting to start the engine in prep for a journey while the Defender remains securely locked / immobilised.

Whats the MPG? was told its 19 at best need to be rich to run that. My 2.8 hilux gets 33 in eco. Was looking at the 90 until I seen the expected MPG 😲
@Defender90Reviews
@Defender90Reviews 6 месяцев назад
Hard to give you exact figures but for running around, lots of short runs I would say mid 20's, and longer runs early 30's.

Muy bonito, pero como todos los TT de dos puertas, plazas traseras de regular acceso, incómodas. Y maletero con muy poca capacidad.

I would not be happy with that space for such a big dog. You will also need a grille to protect the seats and possibly another grille to protect the electric rear window heating elements. I was thinking of getting one as a commercial. I have been driving short wheelbase Toyota Landcruiser commercials since 2006 so am a bit weary of them even though they never left me down or had any serious issues. I would love one though. But Harry (of Harry's Farm and Garage fame) done a review recently and he gave it the thumbs down. I have to give it a thumbs down too simply because of its price over here in Ireland (Republic of) and you'd think you would at least get a spare wheel cover like on the Toyota for the prices they are asking for these vehicles. Are the lights as bad as Harry says in this review video - another big black mark for me if it is so. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oDzi4hVkrrU.html

Thanks for the note. I love Harry's channel and did indeed watch his D90 commercial vehicle review. Then again he spent something like £60k on repairs to a vintage jag last year so lives in a very different commercial world to most of us. A very different proposition. I can only speak for us and the D90 suits our requirements perfectly including our beautiful OES needs. The lights are excellent ! I'll do a short video to share accessing and driving the Defender at night, one for the list.

They do indeed and depending on size of dog I guess everyone decides whats best for them, either a net between the dog and the passengers , seat belt clip or "crate" for example
