I like these reaction examples against the AI and your videos are great. But I feel this video could have really used some actual replays to showcase each situation. There's a big difference between hearing "they'll only have one tank etc" and actually seeing how the game plays out (especially if you don't run into these strategies that often). Oh, and one thing I've noticed in the replays I've analyzed. If the 2nd gas is finished or almost finished by the time your scout probe arrives, then you can expect a factory in the main or proxy (by 1:50 or so). But if the terran starts to build it when your probe arrives or slightly after that, it's a massive indication of mass reapers. I know mass reapers isn't common anymore and it's the easiest proxy to hold imo, but it's nice to be able to identify it based on their gas timings. Thanks for the video, I hadn't seen anybody do this "no probe" reaction and this response to the 2 depot openers is something I hadn't considered. (edit: added factory timing with double gas, helps determine if it's everything proxied or just pressure)
Yeah, I'd like to make them that way too but it's too difficult to get replays with something specific in mind. Maybe later once the channel grows I can get some masters players to do specific builds against me and make them that way.
@@HuShang Yeah, I know. It's frustrating to rank up and learn how to play a solid standard game, just to lose to a proxy because they're not as common. I literally made a list of proxies a few weeks ago and asked a friend to help me practice against each one of them. It can be hard to get hang of it otherwise, given the several flavors of proxy terrans have at their disposal.
Yeah, it's pretty difficult to get games tbh so ill just make new videos if I have a good teaching replay. Once the channel is bigger with more people in the discord I can probably get some masters players to do builds against me for videos, so that'll be great :)
Extremely helpful I have a build of yours for blink into collo into charge and a third but when they have two gas, my build order falls apart. Thanks again
In this case it's a bit different because we're not playing a standard game. If you go for blink, it's reasonable but you won't have detection if they rush cloaked widow mines or banshees. If you go for blink + robo like a normal macro build order than you won't have enough units to defend.
All this implies that you can always expand, which is impossible vs proxy Marauder. You said that it's not that good, but I beg to differ. It hits at 2:45, at which point you have 1 Stalker that gets wrecked even with a shield battery (if you overcharge it, they wait 14 seconds and kill you then). Also, they can have 1 rax at home, walling your probe out and 2 proxy ones for either Marauders or reapers. I don't think this is holdable on 2 bases.
@@HuShang Specific? Imo a proxy 1-1-1 is specific and very rare. Never occurred to me in almost a thousand PvT games but proxy marauder, reaper or marine are very common cheese builds I face in D3-D2. And if they proxy more than 1 barracks, protoss can't hold their natural (unless protoss has a much higher MMR than terran).
is this outdated? 2gas scout was light reaper harass and not 111 and I just lost straight out without anything happening... This also doesn't mention marauder proxy where you don't show any of those tells. Just build depot and tax like normal but also make proxy rax. This way you are not reacting before there's 4 marauders in your natural at 3:30
Is there a solid defense strategy that focuses on good econ? I'm rather new but I'm not a fan of ending games super early. I want a strategy where they come at me with their army and after they exhaust their resources I attack after. Probably not. And it's probably a super noob question but thought it was worth asking haha. I'm a protoss player
Something doesn’t seem right about not scouting what kind of proxy they are doing but only having one unit at 2:30 and two units at 3:00. I feel like attacks come sooner and/or harsher at those times. Maybe not in GM but they’re definitely apparent in lower Gold/plat in my experience.
Hello, I used this build when I saw high ground wall off with barracks at home and he ended up pulling all scvs with a handful of marines super fast. I only had one stalker when it hit and got destroyed any tips on holding this one as opposed to 1-1-1?
Im a little worried cause of the pylon in the natural...cause is the first thing that the terran will attack and if they do that I'm out of the shield battery... or maybe a tank will kill that like toooo fast
@@HuShang well it is to bad to put the pylon close to the nexus but a little bit behind?? Actually I put it like next to the ramp... I dont now if that's to bad... TnT thats why I hate terrans
@@melissaolavarria8839 Yep, your logic makes sense. The reason it is out front is because you want to make a wall vs hellions and if the pylon is too far back you won't be able to do that. It's sort of a concession to cover all the possibilities. But a correct response and you won't need to worry about them sieging your pylon
