IMO, this one is better for home study. All the extra articles are fantastic and a great resource. However, the pages are extremely thin to make room for the extra stuff. Makes it easy to damage with a pencil and pens bleed right through. It's also heavy to walk around with. So not the best for filling with notes and underlining at various Bible classes and worship. Great to keep for reference and study around the house or office. Definitely worth buying!
@@joeleibner9617 I have found though their Bible commentary is not accurate. Be very careful using their commentary or commentary in general. This group - Apologetics Press don't believe lying hands and healing the sick is for disciples today. In fact, they don't believe they are any disciples today but the Word of God says "go therefore and make disciples" and if Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever then His teachings have never changed. Examples: page 2138 Modern Day Miracles, Tongue Speaking and Holy Spirit Baptism is where I stopped using this Bible. I live a life today where I see miracles happen right before my eyes, I've laid my own hands on sick people with disabilities and watched them get out of a wheelchair, I've seen many come out of baptism water screaming in tongues so be very careful using this Bible. Then again on page 1697-1698 they don't believe in casting out demons today, but I can show you so many videos where we actually do them. People think just because Jesus went to Heaven the demons stopped, where did they go? This is ridiculous and dangerous doctrine. Bible clearly says in Mark 16:15-18 and these signs will follow. I find it very deceiving that AP writes commentary for Mark 16:16 but totally ignored Mark 16:17. I would recommend you get one without commentary and seek God for answers not man. Other problems I noticed were on page 2021 (2:3). The crazy thing is I replaced this Bible with "The Dake" NKJV Bible which also has incorrect commentary. This Dake Bible doesn't believe Baptism is part of Salvation. 🤷♂️🤦♂️so again be careful using commentary Bibles or a study Bible. Seek God for understanding and knowledge. Be blessed 🙏
Where there are direct quotes from other scriptures, yes. But the cross references are not the traditional down the center column like some other Bibles. I have noticed a lot of cross references indirectly in the ancillary articles and topical sections. They are littered with cross references to topics. For example, the footnotes of Hebrews 1:3 has a topical icon at the bottom of the page about the deity of Christ which lists 13 other verses.
It’s a study Bible with a huge number of apologetics articles, references, charts and Bible proofs in it. Highly recommend for anyone interested in the area of apologetics.
I had this Bible. Most of the apologetic notes and articles are very good. Just two things. (1) Unless you have excellent eyesight or use a magnifying glass, the (excellent) notes are very tiny. Way too small for my eyes. (2) The theological perspective is from the ‘churches of Christ’. Therefore, the notes will reflect their doctrinal perspective, such as: baptism is absolutely necessary for salvation, no musical instruments are to be used for worship in the New Testament churches, and only churches of Christ (not Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Bible churches, etc.) are true churches. If you are baptized by any denominational church, it is invalid. This is evident in the article on the Church, as well as in verses such as Acts 2:38, etc. Therefore, only get this if you can handle extremely small print and only if you know the theological perspective - whether you agree with that or not.
You do know all versions of the bible if not KJV are corrupt and leaves out and often cut words or hole verses out. I know if you took the all the bible other than KJV you would find what I am saying. So just for the record I read only now the KJV which is to me the best Bible out there. You may disagree which is fine. Just saying.
Thanks for the comment. There’s a book you might find value in called How We Got the Bible from Neil Lightfoot. It might add to your understanding of English translations. Even the KJV isn’t a flawless translation. The word baptism for example wasn’t translated. As we know, the original manuscripts were penned in Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic.
