I believe under his tough guy exterior, Luis truly feels remorseful, and didn't want to do the shooting. Like Luis stated, why couldn't they just rob them (Wendi/dentist)?!? If it wasn't for his life-long friendship with Garcia, Luis would have never been involved. And, of course, without Wendi, Donna, Charlie and Katie... Professor Dan Markel would still be alive. 😢

Just watching this testimony now. DeCoste did a terrible job cross examining Rivera.

Seeing Luis Rivera get older with each testimony and being handed things to read he can’t read… it’s all so sad to me. This entire story is tragic beyond words for so many people, not least of which is these poor, illiterate hitman who had a big wad of cash waved in front of them by the rich, evil Adelsons and they jumped on it. This guy paid his mom’s rent with his money. What they did was horrible. But they didn’t know Dan Markel. It was business for them and that is not as bad as the evil, horrible Adelsons who knew Dan Markel, are related to his children, and created this entire mess out of hatred. The Adelsons have harmed so many people.

The defense is claiming that Rivera and Garcia dealt directly with Charlie Adelson and not through Katherine. If this is true, why wouldn't Luis Rivera testify against Charlie Adelson? Charlie is the bigger fish and Rivera could get a much better plea deal by giving information about the Adelsons. Also, for Sigfredo Garcia, Katherine is the love of his life and mother of his children. If Garcia had information and testified about dealing directly with Charlie, there would be no case against Katherine.

Wendi and donna need to go up the road as well. They are just as guilty as the ones already behind bars. I hope charlie snitches just saying

What reason does Mr. Rivera have to lie at this point. I feel like he is a solid & credible witness. I don’t understand why he didn’t get ALL his charges wrapped up with his plea deal, he is the Super STAR state’s witness. Anyone know what other charges he has pending on top of his plea deal and his expected release date? Lastly, being that he was the leader of the North Miami Latin Kings his time in prison would have been much more comfortable not working with the state. He got 19 years with the plea deal and his racketeering to run concurrently then his other charges to follow. Obviously he would have definitely got more time if convicted of murder 1 though. Crazy story and I feel that the craziest has yet to come.

I hate how the defense is taking advantage of Riveria's intellectual challenges and the fact that he's totally nonchalant, seem bored, jaded and the fact that it's been so many years and his repeated testimony, depositions, interrogation and statements on this matter. He keep saying yes sir many times without even understanding what the defense is asking. This to me is unethical. A lawyer shouldn't be aware of a witness's intellectual difficulties and try to trip him up. The prosecution is just horrible too. Katherine lawyer out misleads the witness on several occasions and the prosecution didn't even make any objections.

He stood his ground and outed Katie for being the orchestrator of the hit on Dan Markel. I don’t like anyone who could participate in murdering another human being but he did seem credible. I watched the proffers Katie did and she wasn’t credible in the least. She is a horrible human being. Without Katie, Dan Markel would still be on this earth.

Just think what he could of been if he made something out of him self. Why are her attorneys so invested when she lied the past 2 trials?
