@bthunder9292 yup I'm getting it and the speed belt. I dint care just walk my very string dog very late at night. A knife , flash, spray, dump pouch and maybe 1 other idem. Never knew the cobra had issues. Luv the raptor
Nice belt! I bought a T Rex Orion a couple years ago to get me by just in case SHTF, but all this time I've waited for the "right" (true) two piece system to come to market. I do believe that day is here. Gentlemen..I can't thank you enough for what you provide, and all the work you guys put in each and every week. Solid stuff as always, and priceless information.
I love the review it is so thoughtful and goes in depth in everyway! Also I agree an offhand melee weapon is gonna become a thing sooner or later. I would love to see your take on the Trex Speed Belt because both the Defense Mech and Trex Speed Belt are quite similar
Ordered mine today. Grabbed a black inner & Mech along with a new cummerbund for my MEPC. Been running the MEPC for a little over a year (school protection officer) at work and it's fantastic. DM definitely earned a repeat customer here.
Man.... I started using "one wrap" to build my belts .. my god... I can't believe I didn't go to it sooner... I can build a belt in like 10 min vs. 60 min... way more sturdier absolutely no play what so ever ... Walsh I appreciate that advice only pissed I didn't go to it sooner ...
That looks like a seriously sick belt. The only reason I’m not ordering one right now is because I’m waiting for the review on the HRT belt. However, it looks like this is the belt and I’m going to get. I’m a little concerned about the sleeve system on the HRT. I’m also not wild about the lack of rear hook and loop. I am really excited about this belt though. That kind of makes me glad that AXL pissed me off with all their delays last year and I canceled my order.
I bought the belt and tried Malice Clips and there is a lot of play with it OFF your body. There's less play when I put it on, but enough to get a little frustrated. Using DMs MOLLE plus fixes this for me. Right now I'm using DM belt with HRT mag pouches using DM MOLLE plus and have zero play - Not Jason
No, you can set it so the one wrap is between the inner and outer belt. No way the one wrap fails unless your whole belt fails. I just don't see that happening - Not Jason
Bought one before seeing this review. Have worn it for 2 months and everything in this review is spot on! This will be my duty belt until (if possible) it gets so worn it’s useless. Definitely would purchase for the rest of my career.
If you like inner MOLLE, give Trex arms speed belt a look. it's actually the only belt I could run with my 25 inch waist size. Also, I'm sure some other viewers have pointed this out, but the purpose of load rating is for the usage of D-ring. mounting cables to helo have quick disconnect, so they don't rely on the cobra buckle to be able to break away.
Interested in what you don't like about the chalk belt. I've had the grid for the last year and it is substantially more comfortable than anything else I've tried and I've tried most
I heard they were playing with curv. Curv doesn't have the memory issues that tegris does so it won't retain some weird shape. Overall curv is a better product.
Currently using an AWS LAB belt but it's too big (I lost weight) and have been thinking of trying to sell it and get a new belt for a while now...looks like I know what I'll be looking to get
Really like how they also have an inner pad belt option too! That way you could have a belt that can be thrown over your everyday clothes OR setup as a two piece comp belt
Do I need the inner belt? I just want a duty style belt to run and gun at the range. I have a really rigid EDC gun belt I love so I don’t want an inner belt if it isn’t needed.. hopefully someone can help!
@@ThinLineDefenseCo I'd send some of the good stuff from over here your way to test, but the shipping is probably going to take ages and I'm still going to need my personal belt for a while
I would love this belt if it had more traditional molle. While this type of molle works for certain pouches, it doesn't work for all my pouches and therefore really isn't for me. On the flip side I just ordered the inner belt to be my new EDC belt.
ehh I'll disagree. It works even better for legacy MOLLE pouches that the "hang it off the side" type the weight is offset by the tegris system. It's hard to explain but it does either type better than old generation belts. -Walsh
@@ThinLineDefenseCo a lot of my kydex pouches that use molle and then the eleven 10 malice clip system don’t work in this sort of belt. I had a ciguera gear belt with a similar system to this and a lot of my pouches were just to floppy when I couldn’t use one wrap. It’s not a bad design it just doesn’t work for me. I much prefer something like the Attack Pack reaper where the molle weaves through the tegris but gives me traditional molle compatibility
They make the mech inner and outer belt with “curve” now instead of tegris. It’s not as rigid and a bit disappointing. They also started doing it without telling anyone. Including the people waiting 8 weeks for the tegris belt
Hey there Walsh!!! I know this is an old video but what is that hanging from the clip on the right of the buckle on the belt? It’s like a shotgun shell holder but with very small loops. I run pyro for airsoft and locally, we use little firecrackers that would fit perfect in that thing!!!
Wait this is my 3rd comment on the 3rd video. First you HATED the floppy inner belt of the GBRS, then you LOVED (“I am starting to like these more”) the more malleable inner belt of the AXL, then I saw your HRTC ARC review with the “super stiff inner belt” and now you said “no one likes soft noodle inner belts”. AGGHH!!!!! I am confused!!!!!! 😭 😂
haha I change my likes over time and you're seeing them in weird order. GBRS is the worst... hands down rat faced garbage on the market. The Axl is pretty mehh compared to the new DM. I like stiff inner belts to hold an EDC if I swap to a civilian setup. The newer lightweight tegris belts do this very well. The other team favorite is the blue alpha gear low profile EDC belt.
I've been using the core Essentials belt I like how the outer belt can adjust easily will this one do the same I wonder cuz I am getting a bit bigger and I may have cut that one a bit too small LOL
That would be insanely tough. They're both great...I find I prefer the DM Mech but then I find myself missing the magnets. I use them both back and forth so you really can't go wrong with either. I'd say if you wear a lot of kit, the Agilite magnets may be more useful. Just for regular range belt that you can throw in a car? DM may be more useful. Both are just fantastic though!
@@ThinLineDefenseCo that's really interesting! Thank you for your insights! Maybe could be interesting to put it to the test side by side :) or with other of your top belts. Would be nice to see them under some action in the field 💪🏻
Lets put in perspective. The mech belt is top of it's class and designed by real CQB and firearms instructors and has sat on the top #1 recommended for almost a year. The other guy is on instagram..... You pick.
@@ThinLineDefenseCo right on man. i like your in depth reviews of belts and was looking for some aws belt reviews, specifically SMU one to get your take on it.
I only wish they didn't take so long on making them I ordered mine 2 days after this video was released and its 8 to 10 weeks out to order them. Just in the waiting game now lol
Hey it looks like you got the 3" pistol mag holders. Would you recommend that if primarily running 20 rounder staccato mags or do you think the 4" would be better?
@@KNP_SWATI am not sure about bison, but somebody told me before that rappel lanyard can’t be applied on ronin belt, u can actually apply on both belt if u just want to be cool in front of ur friends, but NEVER expect it for practical use
