ABOUT TIK 📝
History isn’t as boring as some people think, and my goal is to get people talking about it. I also want to dispel the myths and distortions that ruin our perception of the past by asking a simple question - “But is this really the case?”. I have a 2:1 Degree in History and a passion for early 20th Century conflicts (mainly WW2). I’m therefore approaching this like I would an academic essay. Lots of sources, quotes, references and so on. Only the truth will do.

To add my own two cents as a native German speaker: "Gleichschaltung" in this context has *very* clear connotations of making everybody behave the same. "Gleichgeschaltet" is an adjective used to describe people who completely gave up their individual thoughts and are only following an ideology. Since in this context, it refers to humans, the concept expressed by the word is literally "flipping the switches in everybody's heads to the same position." Since the only thing you can "switch" in a human is their mind/behaviour. Edit: For historical context, it was first used in the context of incorporating the "Länder" more closely with the central government; and that's what the Nazi Gleichschaltungsgesetz refers to as well. "Gleichschaltung" in an industrial context would then be central control. And it appears that the Nazis didn't come up with the term, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't mean exactly what it says on the tin. (The meaning is plainly obvious in German.) Edit 2: Kind of funny seeing people say that the term got nothing to do with the Nazis when they literally had *two* "Gleichschaltungsgesetze" ... "It's only an electrical term" is about the same level of thought as telling somebody "Concentration camps are there to help you concentrate, for example when you want to study for an exam."
@TheImperatorKnight
@TheImperatorKnight Год назад
Thank you for your comment! Yeah I was a little skeptical of the people saying it was just an electrical term, or that we shouldn't interpret it within the historical context. That's why I made a comment about that in the video. We must remember though that the (German) Rankenean school of history says "just stick to the facts bro" and disallows interpretation, so they're shutting down their critical thinking and just looking at things literally, which is problematic to say the least.
@danwinter1040
@danwinter1040 Год назад
@@TheImperatorKnight Even more, sticking to the literal meaning in this way is outright stupid and criminally careless. Human communication is only up to 10% the exact word, the rest is Subtext, wich certain people disregard, but it is important for understanding what was really meant. Willful ignorance, perhaps?
@fluna9724
@fluna9724 Год назад
I would agree with your explanation. Also a good example of the word is the term "Gleichschaltung" of the press, still used today. It means that all the press is reporting in the same narrativ usually controlled by one institution. Which did happen in Nazi Germany and the institution, in this case the state, was controlled by Göbbels. I think there should be thousands of sources available how Göbbels controlled the press and I think even in German history books used in schools the term is"Gleichschaltung der Presse"
@derantorkiarig4592
@derantorkiarig4592 Год назад
@@TheImperatorKnight Yeah, one of those ideas (just stick to the facts) which defeats itself in light of how things work in the real world. Truth is objective, and facts are absolute - but our knowledge of truth and facts is anything but, so it's not a trivial matter to decide what is a fact and what isn't. History would be easy if we could just stick to the facts. There would never be any disagreement if things were that obvious.

Hi Tik, I've been thinking on the topic of influencing for years. Here are some takeaways: -Some people can't be influenced, I believe it's due to the self-determination principle of each individual. If someone simply says no, no matter what, you simply can't get to them. You can provide truths, but truth is, many people simply don't care about truths. Their values are misplaced, and so, they keep reverting to those values every time you present them something. Also, changing yourself is hard and painful, especially when not done out of your own free will, but due to someone else's criticism. -The best you can do is present positive subjects, as historically accurate, entertaining and helpful as possible, which would naturally extend your influence to the maximum. So rather than present:"why socialism is wrong", maybe go for:"why capitalism is wonderful". Also, maybe link the good in the socialist ideas(fairness, having security, the state being kind to the individual, helping the poor) and present how capitalism does just that. -Avoid direct criticism of the people you're trying to convince These are just a few of the conclusions I reached, I could go on but I don't want to bore you. Thanks for your work, I like getting accurate information on WW2.

DadA - Maybe you have come to one of my big conclusions. The HARDEST thing for almost anyone to ever do it to change their mind about something that they have deeply invested in, ideologically, economically, physically. To do so amounts to acknowledging that they have wasted their life on the wrong thing. They then tend to double down on stupid. The better, and evidently rare, way to look at it is this: no man can re-live his past. It's best to make the most of now and the remaining years of one's life. Will it be acknowledgement of truth or holding on to lies? On a different note, but one with a slight connection, I have come to re-think something on capitalism. More accurately, I applied independent thought based on history, reason, morality and the inescapable nature of human affairs to the topic. Too often capitalism is viewed as an artificially constructed system, opposed to, but concocted in the way that some socialist systems are. While I am an enemy of socialism in any of it's varieties, I am not actually a champion of capitalism. I am a champion for freedom, individual liberty that requires self-government based on a working moral compass. Now ultimate freedom and free-market economics, independent ownership of many things is quite idealistic, I fully acknowledge. Communism, of course, is the contrasting impossible ideal. Human nature is what makes either one impossible. What capitalism therefore is, as I now see it, is what happens when freedom, liberty, respect for the individual and his property, is the goal. The ideal does not happen. Capitalism happens, and while less than perfect, it's the closest next best thing, which is why it works. The closer it is to freedom, the better it works. In contrast, we see what attempts to achieve communism has produced, the greatest atrocities, brutality, misery and suffering in the history of the world. Sadly, something about human nature makes the lie attractive to those who don't know any better. The longer a person lives believing the socialist lies, the harder it usually is for them accept the truth even when it smacks them in the face.
@paulrevere2379
@paulrevere2379 Год назад
And if you apply my understanding (above) to the topic of NAZI Germany socialist or private, then it serves as another clear proof that the NAZIs were socialist. Ok, maybe they weren't as socialistic in a few legalistic details as some other places, but the NAZI regime was pretty far extreme into the socialist zone by most accounts. One merely needs to make a list of liberties open to someone living in a free society and check YES or NO for NAZI Germany. The checks are almost all 'NO's' all the way down.
@pietrayday9915
@pietrayday9915 Год назад
"why capitalism is wonderful" I like it, and appreciate the sentiment, BUT I think that if we're honest, capitalism and liberty are imperfect, like pretty much any other human invention, and THAT is maybe the hardest pill for idealists and utopians to swallow: they are "hard-wired" to reject imperfection, and to try to impose what some sort of imaginary "perfection" they have created or adopted in their own image onto the world to replace the imperfection of reality. I think that the best we have to offer on freedom and individuality is that, yes, it's not perfect, bad things can happen, you might save your money and then discover one day you've lost it all to a fire or theft or a bad investment or whatever, and there will be no intricate, highly-regulated government safety-net to save you, BUT you still have the freedom to work as hard as you want at your own pace on what interests you to save it back up without having to worry about a government micro-managing every decision you make and controlling every aspect of your life to manage your minimum rations and your mandatory decisions while preventing you from ever achieving anything more than the bare minimum needed to keep you alive as part of the state's great plan, and thus an imperfect freedom is always better than the authoritarian, centrally-planned, idealistic alternative. And much the same thing could be said of crime, or any of the other problems that quite admittedly can happen to you when you - and the people around you - are free to fail, free to make mistakes, free to do stupid or even evil things: there's a reason why the most free civilizations still temper their own liberty with limited laws, rules, government, etc., and some of the greatest debates within free civilizations come down to how much law and government is too much, or not enough, to protect the most vulnerable members of that civilization, because liberty is better than the alternative, but not without its own problems, the same problems that authoritarianism would claim to be the perfect solution to, if only the authoritarians could get control of the problem... In a way, I'm reminded a bit of the general frustration that idealist utopians have with science - the real stuff, not the stand-in "The Science" used to support authoritarianism: real science will admit to its shortcomings - science doesn't have an answer for everything, it doesn't know everything, it can't solve every problem, it's not always the best philosophical tool for every job, and it can be wrong, often. The beauty of science isn't that it's infallible and omniscient and omnipotent, but rather that science is capable of admitting its faults, of saying so and making corrections when it is wrong, of saying "I don't know" or "there are things science cannot do and problems science cannot solve, and that is one of them", that it can be questioned and in fact welcomes the challenge of questioning. "The Science", a mockery of science used in support of authoritarianism, is a different animal altogether: a utopian, idealist creature that cannot be questioned, because its authority cannot withstand questioning; it cannot admit mistakes, because its authority cannot withstand a show of weakness; it cannot admit to things it cannot know or cannot do, because its authority cannot withstand the appearance of not being omniscient and omnipotent. And, "The Science" cannot admit to the viability of competitive alternatives like religions and other philosophies, because its authority cannot withstand competition. (Ironically, "The Science" has far more in common with philosophies explicitly based in faith, than it does with actual science, and suffers from all the the problems of inflexible and intolerant dogma that the religions it sets itself up as the enemy of, even though as philosophies, there's nothing inherently incompatible between science and religion, until authoritarian dogmatism is applied! And it's no surprise that "The Science" tends to go hand-in-hand with various flavors of "scientific" idealized, utopian socialism, which seem to in turn thrive on propagandistic pseudo-science derived from "The Science"....) What I mean is that I don't think you're ever going to sway idealists and utopians to the wonders of imperfect liberty, any more than you're going to sway people who cling to authoritarian pseudo-science to the wonders of imperfect science and/or religion, because idealists and utopians are all too aware of of the imperfections of liberty, capitalism, genuine science, religion, and so on, and have completely rejected them in favor of the delusion that there's something perfect that can replace them all, and they know what that perfect alternative is: one that offers them the comfort of knowing everything, having the power to do everything, of being incapable of failure or mistakes, of being free from corruption and mischief. They cannot see the wonders of an imperfect liberty, any more than they can see the bloodsoaked horror, incompetence, corruption, and failure of their brand of authoritarianism: they'll always pursue that illusion of the perfection of "True [Authoritariansim]" well into the grave and beyond in complete denial of even its most monstrous shortcomings, while rejecting completely its imperfect alternative for its shortcomings in complete denial of any of the good that can and has been experienced in a state of unplanned, ungoverned, unstandardized, unrationed, unregulated liberty....

This little topic runs deep in determining people's intuitive responses to the terms "left" and "right." More broadly, it determines how people make sense of "liberal," "radical," "Marxist," "socialist," etc, on one hand, and "conservative" and "capitalist" on the other. And "classical liberal" is pretty confusing as to whether it applies to liberal democracies, democratic republics, or even conservatism (as is the case in the U.S. more than Europe). -- There are a lot of phenomenological considerations that enter into how we should understand socialism vis-a-vis human nature and the nature of minds in the world, but I just don't have the energy to go into them here. You're welcome, tldr crowd.
@JimCarnicelli
@JimCarnicelli Год назад
@@grizzlygrizzle: Agreed. This has been a long time in coming. Most Americans are still laboring under what I consider a false dichotomy between our two dominant political parties. To me the left/right spectrum is a smokescreen. The real spectrum is authoritarian to liberal. If you're in favor of controlling people's lives, big central government, massive military footprints, heavy industrial regulation, fiat money, and all the rest then you're on the authoritarian side. If you're for free markets, small government, a small but formidable defensive posture, replacing taxation with voluntarism, religious freedom, lifestyle freedom, and these sorts of things then you're on the liberal side. I'm hopeful that during this decade people will start seeing political ideology and pragmatics through this lens. Showing how the first few decades of the 20th century showcased the meat-grinder horrors of socialism in its various forms is necessary. We can't allow the left to continue to distance their radicals' various flavors of socialism from the best examples of it in practice. TIK history is doing an amazing service by making it easier for intellectuals to respond to anyone of the left who is still open to listening. And help wake up people who are undecided or within reach.

Certainly. Even in American Highschool, at least when I was in it, it's taught that Hitler/Nazis were 'on the right.' So we have millions and millions of young adults being indoctrinated to believe a lie, and to associate 'the right' of the political spectrum with Nazis. Then they get sent to college and have a wheelbarrow load Leftist Ideology dumped right into their brains. Then they either become activists or get jobs and become an activist there. There's this mystique notion it seems, that every white conservative is also a secret racist. I can't help but think 'The Lie' is part of that too.

I've followed your works for a good bit now and truly love them. There's of course a few small things you and I would disagree with but the overall fact is that your videos are good, your claims in touch with reality and your sources are solid. I myself do try to talk to and convince others and even have a tendency to be semi-successful. It might not seem it but your work is important. The only way to counteract the lies and deceit is to fight it. I truly hope you continue, and wish for continued success in your studies. But I implore you to please remember that your videos by their nature will attract the hardliners and stubborn, but it is those that learn and spread what they now know that will make to most impact as time marches on. I firmly believe this kind of topic should be taught in schools (if reserved for the later years) so that the youth can be given the tools needed to counter act authoritarianism of every kind. I hope to one day help that become reality. I hope you have a pleasant day.

Now that you mention it, I think that attracting the hardliners to do their hardliner thing actually isn't a bad thing: if you need examples of exactly the sort of thing that led to all of the greatest political, social, and economic disasters of the 20th century, you need only bring up a subject like this, and the hardliners will crawl out of the woodwork to gleefully provide the examples: any flavor of socialism demands its adherents to completely reject reality before they can properly adopt socialism as their philosophy, and if we still need to see what that looks like, the hardliners will gladly show us by telling us that every brand of socialism that has ever been tried is "not True Socialism", yet still needed to be tried anyway as if they were "True Socialism", because, apparently, the only difference between the likes of Stalinism, Maoism, Not-See-ism, or Fascism, and "True Socialism", is just trying it a little harder, forever and ever.

That's what I like most about the TIKHistory channel; like or dislike, agree or disagree, he has opened up numerous topics for people to discuss that go beyond WW2. History isn't just the past; its the present AND the future as well. I also like that TIK encourages debate and civil disagreement, and I am hoping that there will be a historian in the future who would become willing to engage in civil disagreement with TIK, in particular on TIK's hardline stance against Socialism (he honestly really is hardline against it, and I don't agree with that). As he says himself, history lies in the heart of the debate, and I hope he would be as willing as I am to listen to arguments for SOME (not all) Socialist policies that are/were arguably necessary or even positive, such as Hong Kong's government controlling housing and land in Hong Kong instead of leaving it to the free market, or the debate on whether utilities (water and electricity) should be nationalised or privatised.

native german speaker here as a history enthusiast currently majoring in english I believe a proper translation for Gleichschaltung in the context of the Nazis, would be simply "alignment" or even "unification" the etymology of the word bears little resemblance to its semantics (the etymology being of course the words "same/equal" and "switching" being combined to describe an operating mode of railway switches in an electrical engineering context) because what the process of Gleichschaltung did, was to make various organizations tow the party line, not just politically but ideologically as well putting the affected organizations under the control of a party member as a defacto dictator of such, who then also implicitly doubled as a party commissar, to ensure that anti-nazi sentiments are suppressed this happened to the individual states of germany the church fraternities and a long list of clubs, many of whom were completely apolitical this includes even things such as automotive enthusiast clubs

This debate is very important. I had realised this lost history on my own but never understood my own position because the arguments against are many. When I found your videos it was a like a light being switched on, it all made much more sense. It kinda started for me when I grew up in east london and saw all the so called far right marching and trying to recruit. I knew many of them and knew they were mostly working class and either voted for socialist parties like Labour or never voted at all. They were jew haters too. To me it seemed they were far left and not far right. Then, because of them using the nazi symbolism it lead me to read some of Hitlers history and I tried to make sense of it. But because of bias writing it just made things more confusing. I’m just glad I’m not alone in seeing this lie of the century. It needs exposing and you seem to have a very good grasp on it. What I have learned over the years is that there is no debating the Marxist of any stripe. They operate from the "dialectic" which is a gospel of faith, not knowledge. Ultimately, one cannot debate "faith" with facts. All one can do is keep showing them the facts and hope that they find their brains at some point.

This is what's getting to me. The dialectic and postmodernist emotionalism (I refuse to call it "logic") triumphs over everything else. You can 100% prove that fire is hot, and somehow still lose. It's stupid.

You should be very proud of your work and also very proud of who you are as a historian. You stood up for the truth and continue to stand by the truth despite receiving some very disturbing feedback. Well, Gleichschaltung certainly fits with every version of Leftism ever, which is everyone coming together to speak in one voice and march in lockstep. That's why modern Leftists can talk about diversity and inclusion with a straight face when what they really want is a complete absence of diversity in thought and excluding anyone who disagrees. Because what they mean and intend is for people of all descriptions (diversity) coming together to espouse the same dogma - even to the point of reciting the dogma verbatum - and moving, marching, advancing, agitating as a single group (inclusion). Thus, Gleichschaltung.

I watched the 5 hour video about 3-4 times already, because everything started to make sense. Even in Germany professors do not have an answer for the antisemitism, the reason of the start in 39, the similarities to the communists etc. after watching everything started to make sense and what shocked me is how similar current discourse is to the one in 1933. People are screaming for Gouvernement control and the pandemic seemed like a big social experiment (not saying it was) in retrospect. If I am attacking this Bephomot of an idea (which I am doing constantly because university’s are leftist s*itshow) I am trying to fight the root of the philosophical idea: socialism -> Marxism -> post structuralism (modernism) Todays post modernists are the ones rejecting the national socialists of old. And if you think about it, it makes sense. You are trying to pin them on objective reality, while they pin reality on the personal sufist experience. You're absolutely right. However, I've heard that a lot of Reddit accounts are actually bots, and I'm wondering if a lot of the "critics" I've responded to on here are actually real people. Sometimes they're so incredibly unintelligent that they don't even pass the Turing Test. Is that because they are human, but are stupid beyond belief? Or is it because they're bots with pre-programmed sayings and behaviours. One example I can give is that almost every socialist counters me by saying "TIK thinks the Roman Empire is socialist!" They all repeat this as if it's some sort of "gotchya!". But is this really the case? Not a single one of them has ever stopped and thought about whether what they're saying makes sense. In this case, I just respond back with: "Did the Roman Empire have social ownership of the means of production?" And obviously, the answer is 'no'. So "my definitions" don't say that the Roman Empire is socialist, and yet every single one of these socialists repeat this line. Where did they all learn to say this? It seriously makes me wonder if they're bots.

Hey Lewis, I'm a regular viewer, was born and raised in Scotland, I'm a proud Irish citizen and I served in the British Army for 14 years in several conflict zones. I've been interested in WW2 since childhood and have studied aspects of it over the years. In my opinion your analysis and presentation is important. I find you to be objective, humble and passionate about revealing what happened, where and why it happened through the clearest lens that can be focussed on these important historical events and tragedies. You often remind us that this is based on what we know now and that it could and should be subject to future review as and when more information comes to light. Few people are as comfortable at explaining 'grey' topics as you are. The way you transparently discuss the quality of the source data and reveal to many of us for the first time, the conflicting motivations of certain historical authors is to be applauded. You always invite debate and I encourage you to continue to do so. Your approach is starkly different to other channels. Please be wary of changing your approach. I think I may have picked up somewhere that you and I may disagree on Brexit, and I can tell you I've distanced myself from most people that don't think the same way I do ie we have to accept a significant amount of European integration to maintain stability between East and West. I had to make a special case for you though Lewis. Your work on WW2 is simply too good and it's clear we still have so many lessons to learn from it! You're also very likeable (I'm a sucker for clever sarcasm). I want to contrast your approach with The Tank Museum channel which I've also been following for years and had to unsubscribe yesterday. This week they published a video called "Why does Ukraine want tanks?" They stated that Ukraine had approximately 1,000 tanks at the start of the war and then never explain how many they may have lost or indeed how they were lost ie they never answer the question which they posed. They do spend the first 6 minutes of the video giving their opinion on how Ukraine has allegedly destroyed approximately 1,600 Russian tanks. They scoff at Russian so called 'cope cages' which they state have not been very successful at preventing top attack anti-tank weapons. They show burned out tanks with 'cope cages' but offer no evidence of how they were destroyed ie could be mines, artillery, tank-on-tank. Note; because both sides use many of the same weapon systems, we don't even know who's side they belonged to. They missed an opportunity to explain how Russia has been able to replenish their frontline systems. It's reported in other sources that Russian industry is churning out significant amounts of ammunition and I would think The Tank Museum could have focussed on 'tanks' and explained how they're presumably refurbishing and mobilising strategic equipment from the Soviet era which hasn't yet rusted away or been scrapped / sold off. The Tank Museum also claimed without any evidence that Russian formations are using out-dated Soviet Union command and control, whereby local commanders have to pass decisions up to higher authority and wait around for decisions. This seems blatantly ridiculous. It's as if we're expected to believe that Russian Armed Forces learned nothing from the Chechen wars and the Russo-Georgian war. I could go on about a long list of inconsistencies and speculative opinions, but I'll just finish with saying how biased I find their stance by quoting the curator David Willey, "...there is obviously a corrupt system under Putin, uh morally you know bankrupt in so many ways. The Ukrainians whatever the problems of the country behind them they are united....(blah big-up Ukraine blah)." Completely ignoring the UN reporting of Ukrainian government unguided rocket attacks and shelling of built up areas in the Donbas from 2014 onwards, UN reporting of Neo-Nazi units subsumed into the Ukrainian Army and what appears to be worldwide common knowledge that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries on earth. So many Americans are dismayed that US dollars are disappearing into Ukraine and members of Congress appalled that there is no Ukrainian inventory control of US supplied weapon systems, which fuels further speculation about black-marketeering. I know I've run on a bit, but it looks to me like they've taken a wonderful, objective and historical focussed channel and turned it over to give the vast majority of people what they perceive they want. By tuning into Western war gratification, they will presumably increase the clicks, views and subscribers. Perhaps they've decided this is necessary for economic purposes or perhaps they're just part of the propaganda machinery after all. I hope you find the strength to follow your heart...that's what matters the most. Thanks for all the amazing content! I will hopefully have a new work contract this week and will hook you up on Patreon.

The privatization argument is by far one of the most crucial points to tackle, seeing as it's usually the first thing the socialists will latch on to. You've done an excellent job at dismantling national socialism for the viewers. The size of your channel really does it little justice considering the monumental negligence from First World education. One thing I will bring up, which I see this often from your socialist critics. Strangely, when you ask them to explain their positions and historical context, I've seen personally that everything they give is not entirely the same. Someone will have a different definition than the other, with little overlap. The best analogy I can give: You take a row of socialists and one capitalist and ask them to point with their hands at who isn't the socialist. They will use one hand to point to the capitalist in unison, but at the same time, the other hand behind their back will be pointed towards each other. I find this phenomenon to be equally interesting, and I've always wanted to know why this internal relationship can come together against "a common enemy" but be at odds with itself constantly. Hell, I've had varieties of people tell me the likes of Stalin, Guevara, Lenin, Trotsky, Martov, and Tito, weren't socialists, and therefore, I was wrong for saying so

an interesting thought just struck me at about 11 minutes in. imagine being a person in the future, looking back on a society that is known so well. their language has been translated centuries ago, even, their language shares a root with the language of the person looking back (like german and english, or romance languages, etc). you're looking back at their history looking back at a time before a major historical event, to help you understand the event, but then, you start seeing brand new words, invented or popularized by the individuals you're studying, that you SHOULD be able to translate, and you SHOULD be able to understand, but somehow it eludes you. now, instead of national socialist germany, consider the united states and the West today. where did "trans man / trans woman" come from? doctor money, maybe? words that should be understood, and known, are being used in a strange new way that creates practically a new language from the perspective of someone not involved: equity, systemic, patriarchy, gender, etc, etc, etc. in my lifetime, gender has gone from being a synonym of sex (as in, your sex organs, not the verb) to a word more closely resembling something like "personality traits". equity, while it sounds like equality, actually means something incompatible with equality as we know it. it doesn't mean "equal treatment", it means, frankly, "good result by the standard of the new orthodoxy". a patriarchy is a group led by a father figure, loosely, right? like a family unit, historically. well then why are societies led by women, and fields dominated by women, and markets dominated by women, called patriarchies? it all makes me think of orwell. 1984. his personal experience in the ideology of socialism really gave him the insight to stick his finger right on the pulse of some possibly fundamental behaviors of any socialist ideology. language itself, captured and manipulated to the point where words that may be a threat, are expanded until they encompass even the opposite meaning, making the word useless. everyone has heard "a woman is someone who identifies as a woman is someone who identifies as a woman is someone who identifies as a woman" by now, and ten years ago we all knew what's up. imagine a hundred years from now when historians look back in confusion by our language the way we look in confusion at silly german socialist words today. "gleichunfuchtungshissenarbeitenfrei", "trans woman", "our democracy", "diversity is our strength" (100 years later) "uhh, these words and phrases popped up, and some of it looks familiar. they've definitely used this word or words like this before... a historian 50 years ago thought he knew, but now native speakers of the language say that's wrong but even they can't conclude to what it means..." all that aside, keep up the great work TIK, your videos are getting even better, i watched the original long version of H man's socialism, and the compressed version was very convenient :D

A few of whome are coming around to the truth. It takes time. And a lot of this machine, when it works, it's silent. If I had any advice, it would be to branch out. Maybe work with an organization that has more resources and turn "Hitler's Socialism" into a "real" documentary. Or try podcasting with someone. It's a damn shame, but RU-vid has a weird reputation with people outside of it. My friends/family are 10x more likely to watch and trust a high budget 2hr production than a 2 minute RU-vid video. "Who is this guy, and why should I trust him?"... "He provides a thousand sources. And I've double checked him. He's backed up by evidence"... "Nah. TIK, in all honesty it doesn't matter if the socialists don't listen. About a year ago I understood nothing about economics and was basically a neoconservative. After watching the first Hitler's socialism video, it was a door opening into a room of economic theory and especially Austrian economics. It doesn't matter if you don't convince the socialists, but you have convinced me, and seemingly many others. Your videos on economics have changed my entire outlook on everything. Continue as you are, it may not be convincing the socialists but it is convincing people on the fence. I think it's very important to be reminded of Mises' take on the matter: "It is useless to argue with mystics and seers. They base their assertions on intuition and are not prepared to submit them to rational examination. The Marxians pretend that what their inner voice tells them is history's self-revelation. If other people do not hear this voice, it is only a proof that they are not chosen. It is insolence that those groping in darkness dare to contradict the inspired ones. Decency should impel them to creep into a corner and keep silent."

Don't give up TIK, remember a river isn't carved out by a few buckets of water but a constant trickle. Even if it doesn't feel like your not directly changing minds, you are providing those of us who know the truth about national socialism with the tools we need to sew the seeds of doubt in those who refuse to acknowledge what they really were and how that relates to modern politics and those seeds slowly grow into the trees of knowledge and understanding. Speaking for myself I have used the knowledge, facts and videos you've shared in discussions with some of my staunchly socialist friends and it's not an overstatement to say that it has shaken them to their core and whilst I haven't convinced them totally, it has caused them to doubt what they've been told about socialism and the Nazis and seriously question their own political beliefs. I think a video that would be useful would be one where you show how the Nazis, their policies, activities, ideologies etc are almost identical to the modern day socialist parties like Labour, the democrats etc with the only difference being how they define class and race. I know when I read out the Nazi party manifesto then asked my socialist friend who wrote it, she said the Labour party and she was horrified when she realised who it was really written by because it forced her to realise that Nazism is a different branch of the same socialist tree rather than an opposing ideology.

Social Democracy is just watered down fascism, which is just watered down socialism. On a simple left-right scale it would just go ever so slightly to the middle. However it is more on the left end than it is "at the middle" of the spectrum. What we are looking at is far-left to left ideologies and systems, that are seen as center. With those few center left ideologies being seen as far-right. The middle and right positioned ideologies, systems and philosophies are basically cut off.

Like others have said, its really important. They are by far the ones I rewatch the most as I'm able to pick a certain part and focus on it. You won't reach the die-hards because for them its basically a religion and you're asking them to turn away from their god. Some of them may get there but they need to make that first step themselves. The less indoctrinated may still listen to reason though and we need as many people talking about it as possible so there's more resources out there. Any time you get discouraged remember there's people that haven't been faced with the information and you can play a role in helping them before they fall for the socialism trap.
