Wow guys another cool video. However I think there is a glaring miss and that is Boston’s debut album.

Growing up in the 70's always made me think of one band. BOSTON. While my dad only listed to Elvis, and my mom only country, the next door neighbor turned me on to rock. He would play Boston first album everyday outside while working on his Camero. And everyday I would have those songs in my head. At Christmas I begged and got my first 8 track player that I attached to the handlebars of my bicycle. First tape I bought? BOSTON.

Lets see how many of these are from their favourite genres: metal/punk/hard rock 1. black sabbath 2. alice cooper schools out 3. Ramones 4. Kiss 5. Led zeppelin IV how many not from those genres? 1. beatles - let it be 2. elton john - yellow brick road 3. george harrison - all things must pass 4. fleetwood mac - rumours 5. pink floyd - dark side of the moon 6. Eagles - hotel california So about half of the most influential albums of the 70s are in Ian and nick's favourite genres.

For me, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, News of the World, and Boston’s debut are some of my favorite 70s albums.

I was a teenager in the 70s, and I think your list is just about spot on. I'm British, so I'd replace Kiss with Sex Pistols, but I'd add the first Van Halen album. Oh, and I almost forgot Who's Next !

Great video and really good perspective from a couple guys who weren't around or old enough to experience those times firsthand. Would love to see part 2! I was a kid in the 60s and a teenager in the 70s, and you had to be there to really get the full lived experience of what it was like to have all these incredible albums released. This is a subject that could be discussed for numerous videos as there are so many incredible, iconic LPs to choose from. I remember when Let It Be came out, and seeing a long row of brand new LPs in my local record store. I wanted that LP so bad! Another artist, Elton John was just unstoppable during the 70s with one smash hit and LP after another. He was huge at that time! I'm from MA and Boston's first LP, The J. Geils Band and Aerosmith were everywhere! Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Frank Zappa, Sabbath, Deep Purple, the list is endless.

Can’t argue with any of those choices! But it’s also dependent where you were living at the time . Most of those were relevant in Australia but we had some home grown stuff that was just as defining for us. For instance AC/DC high Voltage also not home grown but ABBA was massive here ! Also I know in South Africa Rodrigues Cold Fact was the album of the decade

I'll take Led Zeppelins Houses of the Holy album all day every day over 4. Another influential album for me at this time was Carol Kings Tapestry!!!

On the day Houses of the Holy came out, so did Made In Japan by Deep Purple, so I canceled buying that Zeppelin album. I bought the live Deep Purple one instead.
